Mr. G. M. Mickle who is a sum-
mer instructor at Ipperwash Cad-
et Camp was talon ill and re-
moved to Westminster Hospital
last Wednesday. After a minor
operation he was able to return
to camp today (Thursday).

Canning Plant
In Full Swing
°The local canning factory hail
been running full tilt to get the
large acreage of peas harvested.
The plant worked full days on
Dominion Day ;holiday and . on
Sunday. Workers have been at
their jobs 18 and 20 hours on
some of the busier days.
A crew .has been hired to come
in at nights to relieve the day
staff.
The pack is expected to be com-
pleted in two weeks.

all, of Crediton, celebrated the fittieth anniversary of their
wedding on Tuesday, June 28.' Mr. and Mrs. Woodall are
active members of the United' Church,both having served

of the 1Bulova watches donated
by S. B. Taylor and the Sandy
Bowden trophy in a Scotch Doub-
les bowling tournament on the
loeal greens Wednesday, It was
the fourtb trophy that this rink
has won in the past two weeks.
They had three wins with a plus
of sa.
It was the first local tourna-
ment of the year. Thirty-two
rinks were in competition. The
greens were in excellent •condi-
tion. The members of th.e Ladies'
Bowling- Club served lunch.

the daily maximums have been
hovering around the 90 -mark.

according to the records at R.C.-

perature reached 91.8. On Mon-
day it was 91.2 and on Friday
91.3.

an exact copy of the machine used by Louis Bleriot in his his-
toric flight across the English channel in 1909. It was built at
the Provincial Institute of Technology and Art, Calgary, Alta.,
by the aeronautical students to eommertiorate the 46th anni-
versary of the channel crossing on July 26 in France. At the
controls of the plane—which will appear in an air show in
Edmonton prior to being crated, and shipped to France—will
be pilot Jean de la Bruyere, 27', of Echn.onton.

STARTS LAWSUIT AGAINST MINISTER—Instigator of an
unusual lawsuit is Mrs. 11, Floward, of Woodstock, Ont., shown
with her daughter. She is claiming damages for libel and
slander from Rev. Ridley H. Latimer, minister of Oxford Rap,
tist church, and eight deacons. Principal exhibit in her suit is
a letter from. lifr. Latimer, in which `Impropriety" was sug-
gested in being seen with a getitlenatth friend of her husband.
