'Decoration 'Sunday at the cem-
etery was a very 'poor showing as
far as the Legion was concerned..
Just a few of the old stand-bys
showed tip, and about shelf of
them wee .Oddfellows,
I
AM at least thankful that a
fairly good showing 'turned out
for the general meeting last
Thursday night. Maybe it 'was
the turkey that had. a lot to do
With that,
Comrade Ted k7lliotd had his
nice new car smashed up near
Kitchener last Friday night. Luck-
ily no one was seriously hurt,
although his wife 'and son were
shaken up a bit,
Comrades 'Graham Mason, 'Cal
Cutting and Doug Brintnell have
turned farmer. They went out to
Comrade Chamber's farm Satur-
day afternoon and helped 'him
finish up the haying. This Com-
rade Cal Cutting seems to be a
busy lad. I overheard •him telling
one of the Comrades that his
dancing school was all filled up.
No one seems to know where he
holds these classes, though.
The Legion decided at the
meeting Thursday night that they
would not have a summer project
this year. They would •step aside
and let the Lions 'Club have a
clear field for their project. They
also said they would assist them,
and have set up a committee to
meet with them to see what they
wish to do.
The ladies' Weiner roast 'went
over very well. 'Comrade Beavers
likely had a sore throat Tues-,
day morning after singing as he
did, 'but other than :that I don't
think anyone suffered too much.
It was a lovely night. You know
moonlight en the 'water, and that
sort of thing. I trust some of
them went home in a romantic.
mood.
