Southcott were two of six dele- gates from Huron Presbytery who attended the third national con- ference for United Church men at Elgin House, Muskoka, over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. George Lawson are spending this week in Pitts- burgh, Pa., with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Greyson, of St. Petersburg, Fla., are visiting with Mr, and Mrs. Archie Etherington of Usborne. Murray Stephen, who has spent the past six and a half years with Lindenfield's Ltd., has .ac- cepted a position with a hard- ware firm in Toronto. Mrs. Whitney Coates and Wil- ma and Mrs, E. S. Steiner visited with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Doh- erty and Denise in Mt. Clemens, Mich., on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Ellis and family, from Camp Shilo, near Brandon, Man., arrived in Exeter Monday. Mr. Ellis is taking a two month's course at Gagetown in. the Maritimes. Mrs. Ellis and and boys will spend the summer with Mrs. Rodd Ellis. Mrs. John Kemp, of Toronto, is visiting with her sister, 1Vir. and Mrs. K. G. Hockey. Mrs, Ward McMahon, of Port Angeles, Washington, U.S.A., is visiting her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bailey. Mr. Calvin Cutting motored to Hanover on Sunday and called on Mr. and Mrs. George Braith- waite. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dixon left Tuesday night for a two month vacation in England. Scalier officiated at the marriage of Clara Jean, daughter of Mr, and Mrs John Ryan, of Mt. Carmel, and "James Joseph, son of Mx'. and Mrs. August Ducharme, of"'Dublin, on Saturday morning at 9:30. The wedding music was played by Miss Betty Ann Crouthlin, The bride was gowned in a white floor -length dress of all- over lace over white satin featur- ing a strapless bodice and jacket with collar studded with irrides- Bent sequins and pearls .and lily point sleeves; The skirt had three rows of net ruching and net flounce. Her headdress was in crown style trimmed with irrides- cent sequins and held it hip -length veil with appliques of matching lace. $he carried a bouquet of red roses. The bride was attended by her sister, Mary, as maid of honor; the groom's sister, „Rose Du- charme as bridesmaid, and the groom's niece, Sharon Staples, as flower girl. They wore matching gowns of buttercup yellow, orchid and green respectively in waltz - length in all-over lace pattern with multi -tiered . net skirts with strapless bodices. The bolero jackets had wing collars and they wore matching gauntlets. Their headdresses were pillbox style with matching satin bows, The maid of honor and the brides- maid carried bouquets of baby mauve mums andyellow carna- tions, while the flower girl's nose- gay was pink carnations. The groomsman was Thomas Ducharme, brother of the groom, and the ushers were Roy Ryan and Kenneth Ducharme. At the reception at Dominion House, Zurich, the bride's mo- ther received in a light blue crepe gown with navy accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. Assisting her was the groom's mother who chose a navy dress with navy accessories and red rose corsage. For her wedding trip, the bride donned a grey suit with white ac- cessories and corsage of pink and white carnations. The members of the Junior choir of James St. United church were entertained to a picnic at the summer cottage of their lead- er, Lawrence and Mrs. Wein, on Friday evening.
