Sparking pre- sented the devotional period in which she based ber remarks on the Twenty -Third Psalm, Mrs. R. Boyce introduced' the guest speaker, Mies Mary Nicol, of .Smith's Falls, missionary on furlough. Miss Nieol has spent five and one -halt years in India and at present is furthering, ber studies at the Univesrity, of Western Ontario. The speaker en- larged on her work in Central India, mentioned the Hindu re- ligion, after which she showed vivid views depicting beauty, poverty and hardships. She made her audience conscious of the challenge to seek to serve Him better whatever it may be. The Thrifty Kippenettes gave an in- teresting demonstration on their latest project, "The Milky Way." Taking part in the demonstration were Marie Jarrott, Lois Mc - tallest, Marilyn Mousseau, Elaine Etell, Phyllis 1,ostell and Ann Sinclair, with Bonnie Kyle as commentator. Catherine Ander- son gave a talk on the demonstra- tion on "The Milky Way " which she had previously given on Achievement Day at Seaforth. The first seven girls, -who have completed their nine projects, were presented with china cups and sauoers. The address was read by Mrs. J. MoLellan. The pre- sentations were made by Mrs. N. McLeod, Mrs. R. TJpshall and Mrs. Stewart Pepper. The two past leaders, Mrs. Ross Chapman and Mi's. Eldon Jarrott, were also presented with .cups and saucers. 4Contributing to the program were Mrs, Ken McKay with Plano solos, and Mrs, T. Meyers and Mrs. H. Rose, of Zurich, vocal duets in costume. Miss Mary Brooks Born In Hibbert Miss Mary Brooks, 70 former- ly of Granton, died Tuesday at the home of her nephew, Ernest Ensinger, at Moorefield. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Brooks of Hibbert Township. She is survived by two bro- thers, James of town, and Alfred, of Wineheisea; and one sister, Mrs. Susan Ensinger, Stratford.
