The two will meet again in Dash- wood in the afternoon at 2.30 during the annual sports day. The opening ball games will also ]nark the debut of Exeter Legion's new (bagpipe band. The pipers will head parades at 'both games, ' Zurich Flyers will open against Mitchell Legionaires with Auburn at Clinton in the .morning. See New Faces. O,n Exeter Club 'Clinton has entered a junior. team to give the league a sixth team. The new club was accepted at the schedule meeting Thursday night. Manager Jim Fairbairn and Coach Red Loader have their line- up pretty well set for the .opener and fans will see some new 'faces on the club. Don "Boom -Boom" Gravett, the hockey star, has joined the crew and is working infield and out. Bill Hayward, another member of the hockey club, may add bit- ting strength to the !ball Mohawks. Ron Heimrick, former Zurich pitcher; Bill !Gilfillan, !G,rry Witherspoon, of Ailsa Craig and Don Wells, -from the local juven- iles, have ben .added. The Tigers hope to ,have star hurler Robbie Wein on the monad He's now at 'Sudbury. Gerry :Guen- ther may return to the lineup and the club has a number • of other mound prospects on the ,hook. 'slob Stormes, the 1St. Thomas hitter, will be back at first base or shortstop. New faces include Terry Wade, former Exeter juve- nile and Lloyd and Floyd (Rader, two promising youngsters. Dick Regier, a batting star two years ago, will return to the outfield. Lorne Kleinstiver and Jim Hay- ter will work behind the plate. The infield includes :Stormer, Bob Hayter, Charlie Tiernan, 'R'aymie Wein, Terry Wade and Jim Hay- ter or Kleinstiver. Others in the outfield are Carl Wein, Gerald Martene and Jack Gaiser. Mickey Webb will continue as manager. President of the club 3s Art Allemande; . vice-president is Boots Klumpp and secretary -trea- surer Mervyn Tiernan. Executive members include Joe Merner, Harold Weber, Sid Baker and Lloyd ,Rader. A `booster club has been organ - Dashwood Ass'n Sponsors Teams Dashwood Minor . Athletic As- sociation, which held its annual meeting recently, will sponsor three ball clubs this year. These include the pee wees, last year's Ontario "D" champ- ions; the midgets and a girls' softball team. Wally Wein was elected _presi- dent. Ken McCrae is vice-presi- dent and Mrs. Jim Hayter trea- surer. Mervyn Tiernan, Joe Mer- ner and Harold Kellerman are members of the executive. Managers and coaches are:'pe wees, Ross Haugh; midgets, Jack Gaiser and Ken McCrae; Cliff Salmon and Mervyn Tieman.• Local Turf Club Plans Two Races Exeter Turf Club .plans to spon- sor two race meets at the local oval this. summer. The main event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6, with a purse of $2,309. There will be five two -heat classes -2.30, 2:25, 2.23, 2.21 and 2.10.
