said the teams were improving
every year and the training would
win more success in the future.

banquet were Mayor R. E.
Pooley; Don Sharpe, representa-
tive of RCAF Station •Centralia:
and Rev. N. D. Knox, who led in
the sing -song. Cpl. .Frank Hocka-
day, of RCAF Centralia, enter-
tained with ventriloquism.
Hot dogs, ice cream and choco-
late milk were served by mem-
bers of the Legion Auxiliary and
Dinettes,
Jimmie Crawford, crippled Son
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crawford,
Exeter, was a guest. Others in-
cluded those who assisted with
the program during the summer:
Alvin Willert, Ernie Dempster,
Bill Allison, Ross Tuckey, George

A cigarette which dropped from
a driver's hand was believed re-
sponsible for a Main Street crash
in Exeter Sunday afternoon.
Driver Len Dilkes, Exeter, said
he was attempting to retrieve the
lighted cigarette when his car hit
another, owned by Alvin •Cud-
iuore, R.R. 1 Hensall, which was
parked, Damage is estimated at
$400.
On Monday cars driven by Wil-
liam Northcott, R.R. 1 Exeter,
and Warren Brock, Granton, col-
lided at the intersection of Anne
and William Streets. Damage was
not extensive.
Exeter Constable John Cowen
investigated both accidents.

Mrs. Sid Baker, who was a pa-
tient in $t. Joseph's Hospital re-
turned home Friday.

Mrs. S. Wesley, of Port Lampton,
and Miss Lois Wesley, nurse -in -
training at Victoria Hospital.
gam Mousso
John MousSb, beloved husband
of Annie Webb, of Grand, Bend,
passed away May 8, 1955, in St.
Thomas.
Mr. Mousso, who was in his
eighty-ninth year, was born in
Hay township and , farmed there
for many years. He also operated
the Oakland House .at Grand
Bend.
His first wife, the former Eliza-
beth Bell, died several years ago.
Besides his widow, Mr. Mousso
leaves to mourn his loss, two
daughters, Mrs. .Richard Taylor,
Sippen, and Mrs. Fred Jackson,
Stratford; two sons, Alex, Hen -
sell, and Robert, of Thorold; and
one step -son, Wesley Nichols, of
London; three sisters, Mrs. Aman-
da Wesley, Mrs, Rachel Denomme
and Mrs. Marie Smith, all of De-
troit, and four brothers, Frank,
of Hensall, Edward, of ,Drysdale,
Louis of St. Joachim, and Peter,
of Windsor.
The remains rested at the
Hoffman Funeral Home, Dash-
wood, until Tuesday when the
funeral service was held with
Rev. W. 0., Smith of Grand Bend
officiating. Interment was in
Hensall cemetery, Six grandsons
acted as pall bearers, Garnet,
Lloyd and Donald Mousso, John
Taylor, Harold and Glen Nichols.
Rev. M. M. Irwin, who will be
leaving shortly for the mission
field in Korea under the United
Church Mission Board, will be
the guest speaker at Grand Bend
United Church at the morning
service, which will be a mission-
ary and evangelistic service. Rev.
Irwin will be guest speaker at
Greenway United Church at the
afternoon service,
Miss Pauline Mason, of Lon-
don, spent the weekend at•her
home in town.
