Everyone likes to be thought of as a
a good driver. Or at least I hope, for
safety's sake, that everyone wants to
Abe a goon driver.
Row a person starts a car engine, an engine that lees
familiar wits`, is a pretty good tip-off to how good a driver
• he is.
Do you, for instance grab on that choke and yank it
out like you were hauling in a ship, If the engine is in poor
shape, or if it's a bitterly cold day, you may have to do that,
but the best advice is: Don't..
Keeping the choke out lets raw gas shoot into the
cylinder, where it washes off the oil, That's a, short road to
engine wear. Pumping the choke button, pulling it out and
pushing it back in quickly, is the best method.
If you have trouble with backfiring, try this: Pull out`
the choke, step on the starter and let the engine spin until it
gains momentum. THEN turn in the ignition key.
I like to see cars looked after when they leave our lot
because we sell cars .that should be looked after, They're
cars in first class shape that deserve to stay that way. Many
are the one -ow ler cars that have been babied along by one
mechanic. We'll show them to you 'whenever you drop by to
look around,
Do you know what kind of car you'd like. Do you
really know? Next week we'll pass on some tips on the big
cars, little cars, sixes and eights to help you decide.

Lodges Mark
Anniversary
Members of the Exeter lodge of
Qddfellows and the Rebekahs ob-
served the anniversary of ,the
order ;by attending divine wor-
sllip in !Main St, United church
The lvlinister, Rev. A, E..Eol-
ley took 'for his theme the par-
able of the Good !Samaritan, "The
Jews," said Mr. Holley, were a
self-righteous people and were
not to be defiled by contact with
others, particularly the 'Samari-
tans. at was strange that • Jesus
took the !Samaritans and coined
a parable considering that they
were despised and treated as
dogs."
;The road prom Jerusalem to
Jericho was infested with rob-
bers and ;plunderers and the
plight of the wounded .man was
easily understandable. Two eccle-
siastics, sealous for. the ,feit'h,
would not stoop to defile !them-
selves, ,but in spite of the fact
that the ,Samaritan was called a
dog and was spat upon by the
Jews, he stopped and administer-
ed to a man in need.
The parable makes a trernen--
dous appeal to men of all na-
tions that all men are brothers.
To abolish prejudices, animosity,
bitterness and class distinctions,
which keep us separated from one
another we must start .at the
local level and put into •practice
the teachings of the fatherhood.
of ,God and the brotherhood of
man.
A quartette was sung by Mes-
srs Harold and Gerald Skinner,
Sterling Ince and BobRussell.
