Week tournament at Goderieh Tuesday night by nosing out Seaforth in their third game of the week. The game ended in .a 4,4 tie but the c Exeter I ub received the nod with the most shots on goal, Be- cause of time' limitations in the tourney, no overtime is allowed and tie games are decided by net shots, The locals' next game is sched- uled for Thursday morning at 10 a,m. when they meet the "Pack- et` Rockets" from Strathroy. Win- ner will go into the champion- ship game at 7.30 p.m, the same day. 'The "B" section is the largest in the tournament with 17 teams entered. Undefeated teams, be- sides Exeter and Strathroy are St. 'Marys and Fergus. The local Pee Wees, handled by Red Loader and Doug, Smith eliminated Wingham and Hano- ver in,earlier rounds, They whip- ped Wingham 6-4 Tuesday morn- ing and trounced Hanover 8-0 on .Saturday. Leading scorer on the Exeter club is Bob Jones, who has count- ed four goals and four assists. He starred in the. Wingham game with a hat trick. Storekeepers! Closest Contest The 4-4 tie With Seaforth on Tuesday night was the toughest test of the tournament. Although Exeter had an edge on the play throughout the game, the Sea - forth lads rallied in the third period to tie the score. Exeter had a big margin of 16-8 qn goal shots, .Bob Robertson Was the star of the win with two goals. Frank Boyle and Jack Stephan scored the others. Gerald McBride, Bob Jones, Gordon Strang and Bev. Sines received assists. Robertson opened 'the scoring after a minute and a half of play. He tipped in the puck from the goal crease after the Seaforth netwinder had stopped Gordon Strang's shot, Frank Boyle gave Exeter a 2-0 lead in the first period when he robbed the Muck Happy Gals, Bones Compete For Title Happy Gals and Wish Bones, who finished in first and second places in the "A" section of the ladies' league playoffs, will bat- tle it out for the championship in a nine -game playoff series. The Happy Gals scored seven points this week to post a com- manding lead over the rest of the section. They finished with 50 points, 11 more than the Wish Bones. Other teams to score seven - point wins in the last week of the playoffs were the Hi Lights, Pin Poppettes and Hot Dogs. The Wee Hopes are leading the best -nine -game playoffs In "B" section. Pee Wees were elimin- ated in the semi-finals of the "C" division of the Young Canada Tournament Tuesday when they lost to Milverton 6-1. The loss followed a 17-0 shel- lacking Lucan had handed Nor- wich earlier in the tourney. Paul Conlin scored the lone Irish goal in the semi-final con- test. He and Cliff Atcheson star- red in the 17-0 win six and five goals respectively. Other marks- men were Haragan, H. Conlin, Eagan and Bond. Zurich Edges Bend Zurich defeated Grand Bend, last year's "D" champions, 7-3 in the first gameof the "C" com- petition. Bob Johnston led the winners with three goals.
