observed her 87th birthday. Her

SAWING AWAY—Sawing away here at the Canadian buck-
saw title is 280 pound Fernand Morin of Lae Rumqui, Que.
His average of 7,4 seconds was sufficent to win hien the 1955
championship in Montreal during the banquet of the thirty-
seventh annual meeting of the Woodlands Section of the Can-
adian Pulp and Paper association, sponsors of the event. It
was the sixth time in the seven years that the contest
has been held, that a lumberjack representing the Quebec
North Shore Paper Co.. won the championship.

Dies In Dashwood
Mrs. Fannie (Aliemand) Kit-
chen passed away at the hone of
her son, Arthur Aliemand, Dash-
wood, on Thursday, March 31, in
her eighty-ninth year after an
illness of two years,
She had lived in Dashwood
about 10 years prior to which'
she made her home at Tilison-
burg.
Surviving are. -three daughters,
Mrs. Fred Stark (Edna), of To-
ronto; Mrs, Aro' Bowes (Gert-
rude), of Haiieybury, and Mrs.
Clarence Williams (Wanda), of
La Peer, Mich., and one son,
Arthur, of Dashwood.
The body was forwarded from
the T Harry Hoffman funeral
home on Thursday when, It rest-
ed at the Ostrander and Son
-funeral home, Tillsonbu'rg, front
