A native of the second conces-
sion of Hay township, Mrs. Buch-
anan attributes her 'bag life to
plenty of hard work and taking
each day in its stride. Resident
of Hensall for the past 20 year,•
she came here after residing with
her husband on a farm in Tucker -
smith.
,She has a family of two sons
and one daughter, 11 grandchild-
ren and 14 great-grandchildren,
She recalls the early days when
as a young girl she walked with
eggs and butter to Bontltron's
store at Rogerville, three and a
half miles away and returned
home loaded with groceries. In
berry -picking time she walked
four miles carrying a big milk
pall and filled it with berries be-
fore walking home.
,At the age of five she could
thread the loom and from then on
she had to weave cloth and blank-
ets for the family,

Hensall branch of •the Canad-
ian Legion entertained the Legion
Ladies Auxiliary to a turkey din-
ner in the LIegion Hall Friday
evening, March 25. Seventy-five
sat down to a• dinner prepared
and served by the Legion mem-
bers and the boys received many
compliments on their meal. The
men also washed all the dishes.

the Legion Auxiliary, expressed
appreciation, The evening con-
cluded with a dance. •

Lt. Brian Bell -Irving, of the
Royal Canadian Navy, Victoria,
B.C., who aecompanied a company
of Fit. Cadets to London, visited
last Thursday with Mrs. C. Cook.
Mr, Irving„ who 1s married to
Carolyn Chellew, formerly of Los
Angelos, Cal., a granddaughter
of Mrs. C. Cook, is expected to
leave for Europe in the near fu-
ture.

return home after receiving treat-
ment in South Huron Hospital,

Parr Line Farm Foruni
The Parr Line Farm Forum
met at the home of Mr. and Mrs,
Eldon. Jarrott with twenty mem-
bers in attendance. As there was
no regular topic for discussion
members spent the -evening in a
a social way. Winners at cards
were Mrs. Gordon Love and Wil-
fred Mousseau.
The forum has hada successful
year with an average attendance
of 22 members of a total mem-
bership of 27.
