Hillcrest Farm Forum
Hillcrest Farm Forum met at
the home of Mr, and Mrs. J, Sigs-
worth.
The opinion on how the farmer
can offset industries' higher
wages and shorter hours in order
to secure farm labor was: "if
farmers received prices for their
products comparable to the prices.
manufacturers receive for their
goods, they would be able to pay
wages which would attract farm
labourers".
Single men worikng on farms
get their board and have their
laundry done and married. meq
usually have a free house, gar-
den and milk besides their wages
which offset the higher wages re-
ceived in the city.
Planning the work with the
hired help and then leaving him
the responsibility of carrying it
out helps to keep him contented.
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mr, and 'Mrs.
Kermit Thompon.

A goodly number of parents
availed themselves of the oppor-

their children's work' and talk
over their progress and difficul-

The display of work in all
rooms was splendid but the or-
iginality of Mrs. Cobleigh's grades
two and three deserves special
mention. Teacher and pupils had
lain on large pieces of heavy
paper to be traced. These were
cut out and coloured. The teach-
er's stood by the blackboard and
the rest sat in their own seats.
When you stepped into the room
the effect was unique to• say the
least. The children drew each
other's faces and some were so
very well done that one had no
difficulty recognizing them. Par-
