Miss Catherine Madden
Mies Catherine (Kate) Mad-
den, of Mount Cartmel, died on
Tuesday, March 1, in St, Mary's.
Hospital, London. "She was a sis-
ter of the late John Madden,
well-known cattle drover who
died last year, She is survived by
a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the
Church of Our Lady, Mount Car-
mel,
The body rested at the T. Har-
ry Hoffman Funeral Home until
Thursday morning when requiem
high mass was sung at the Church
of Our Lady, Mount Carmel, by
Father A. Scales!. Interment wase
made in the adjoining cemetery.

spent last weekend with Mr, and
Mrs, T. Harry Hoffman.

to-door cookie sale on March: 12.

The W. A. of Trivitt Memorial
Church met in the Parish Hall
on Tuesday. Mrs. H. Bierling
presided and Mrs, V. Heywood
read the scripture lesson. Mrs
R. Dickins gave the study ;book
instruction on India. Mrs, Lounds
explained the Moslem religion;
Mrs. Dickins the Hindo religion
and Mrs. V. Heywood the mean-
ing of caste. r�
The next meeting will be post-
poned one week so the members
may attend the paint demonstra-
tions. Mrs. Knox urged the ladies
to attend the special services held
each Wednesday during Lent.

Holmes as Judge.
The court has ,been in opera-
tion since January t of this year
and regular sessions are held at
the County Court House, usually
Preceding magistrate's court.
Main functions of the court are
to deal with canes under the
Juvenile Delinquents Act, and .all
family .matter s including cases.

Children Act.
As the court has been set en
under Ontario °Statutes, records
are being kept, including dockets
and disPositiobs of. eases heard.
`Under the Juvenile and Family
Court system, -there are proba-
tion officers and in Huron Coun-
ty, the three field workers with
the Huron 'County Children's Aid
Society will conduct probation
