Mrs. Eva (Francis) MacGregor
died in Sarasota, Florida, on Feb-
ruary 13 in her sixty-third year.
She was the widow of the late AP
Stanley MacGregor and sister of
Mrs. Alfred Arthur and Mrs.
Elsie Boyce, of London, and W.
Gordon Francis, of Washington,
D.C. Interment was in Mount
Pleasant Cemetery on Thursday,
Felhuary 17. Mrs, MacGregor
spent the summer seasons in this
district,
. James Roya4 Toll, of London,
died in Victoria Hospital, London,
on February 9, in his fiftieth
year. Mr. Toll owned a cottage
on Elmwood Avenue and he and
his family spent their summers
in Grand Bend, where, Mr. Toll
loved to be out in his boat fish-
ing.
Mrs. 3. Mousseau has returned
from a few weeks' visit with Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Jackson, in Strat-
ford, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tay-
lor at Kippen, and Mr, and Mrs.
Alex Mousseau in Hensall.'

home last week* after visiting
with relatives in Detroit and

"Health" was the topic for the
Grand , Bend Women's Institute
meeting for February, held in
the town hall, The roll call was
answered by "What did I eat for
breakfast?".
The project for the South Hu-
ron Hospital was discussed and
the sewing was brought in to
Mrs. William Sweitzer,
The Institute will ship woolens
again to .be made into blankets.
The woolens are to be taken to
Mrs. Lloyd•Fahner's by March 15.
A paper on current events was
was given by 1VIrs. H. Wainer.
The motto, "Life should be
partly cakes and red geranium,"
was commented on by Mrs. Emery
Desjandine by a poem entitled
"Zimmier.
Mrs. Garnet, Patterson, health
convenor, showed a tray for a
sick room, and spoke on religion
and life. She emphasized partieul-
arly that "Religion is the steering
wheel of life, not a spare tire."
The Men's ilrotherhood of the
United Church held their meeting
on Tuesday evening, when Rev.
M. M. Irwin, of Ipperswash Camp,
spoke. 011 Korea.
The men of St. John's -By -The -
Lake have formed a local chap-
ter of the Brotherhood of Angli-
can Laymen. Mr..'William Rendle
has been elected president pro
tem, and Mr. Russell Itoperoft,
secretary. tThe next meeting will
be held in the town hall Thurs-
day, February 24, at 8.30 p.m.
