Flyers Capture Lead

Zurich Flyers took command the end of the first period and
of the Group Four finals this 2-2 in the second. The Flyers had

realization then of these projects.
However, in 1926 a new com-
pany, the Transportation and
Power , Corporation Limited, was
established, with capital of $15,-
000,000. Headquarters were in
Montreal. The company proposed
to construct the St. Lawrence
Seaway ivith the money of its
participants and then to sell all
the canals to the Government for
the sum of one dollar. The com-
pany was to reserve the right to
exploit for its profit the hydro-
electric resources created by the
canalization. The plan involved
14 locks from the Lakehead to
Montreal.
But negotiations dragged along
and •Cantin, who tried from the
beginning of the century to get h
charter, had to compete with
powerftil financiers who worked
behind the scenes to keep Cantin
film profiting. It has been said
that these finaneiers, seeing
riches in the project for them-
selves, persuaded parliamentar-
ians to keep dentin from getting
his charter. These claims May be
true or false, but Oentin neVer re-
ceived the charter,
While Ottawa delayed froin
year to year the study of his pro-
ject, dentin went to court over
several lawsuits and these brought
