Ladies' Aid
The regular meeting of the
Ladies' .Aid of Zion Lutheran
Church was a missionary meeting.
Mrs. M. Werner, the president,
occupied the chair. Mrs. 'Charles
Martene read the scripture lesson
and Mrs. Merner led in prayer.
In the absence of the pastor,
Mrs. Ed. Hamather took the topic
"Win the Philippines and New
Guinea for Christ" assisted by
Mrs. Rudolph Willer and Wrs. E.
Restemeyer.
Misses Eleanor Becker and
Barbara Koehler played a piano
duet. Grace Keller recited a poem
and Mrs. Ed. Nadiger and Wrs.
R. Miller sang.
Ten new tables were presented
to the ladies for use at suppers.
These were donated by some of
the men of the congregation.
.Group 2 with Mrs. Hamilton in
charge served ipie and ice cream.
Men's Club Social Evening
The men's club of Zion Luther-
an Church held a social evening
on Thursday with their wives as
guests. The evening was spent in
playing crokinole. The winners
were Mrs. Adolph Keller and L.
Rader. Consolation, Mr. and Mrs.
V. L. Becker. The men served
lunch.
Euchre Party
Despite the severe storm and
heavy roads there were thirteen
tables of euchre in play at the
second euchre party sponsored
by Dashwood W. I.
Prizes were won by Mrs. Ern-
est Koehler and Fred Keller; con-
solation prizes went to Mrs. A. V.
Tiernan and Nial 1Vildfong. The
door prize went to Mrs. Leo. Gib-
son.

Charles Rinker
Dies In Sleep
Charles Rinker, who died in
his sleep at his home on Tuesday
had lived in Dashwood for the
past 68 years.
He was found dead by his
daughter, Venda, when she went
to call him. Coroner F. G. Thom-
son, of Clinton, found that death
had followed a heart attack.
He came from Germany when
a lad Of ten years and was known
in, this district as a gardener and
a weaver. He ,was a memter of
Zion Lutheran (Church.
His wife, the former Sarah
Gossman, died two years ago and
a son, Harry, died last year.
The body is resting at the T.
Harry Hoffman funeral home
where service will be conducted
Thursday at 2 p.m. by Rev L.
Higenell with interment in the
Lutheran Bronson Line cemetery.
Uranium deposits have been
uncovered in widely separated
parts in New Brunswick.
