Presents Award
The February meeting of the
Wonnen's Missionary Soeiety was
held at the home of Mrs. T.
Laing with Mrs. Laing presiding.
Mrs. T. L. Scott had charge of
the study book with Mrs. M. Le-
mon& Mrs. Frank Allen and Mrs.
Thomas Seott assisting, Mrs, Will
Miller favored 'with• a solo and
the topic was given by Mrs. K.
McKellar. Mrs. Houghton led in
the Glad Tidings prayer. Current
events were given by each mem-
ber giving an item from Iltilad
Tidings,
With Mrs, Thomas Scott read-
ing a suitable address, a life
Membership certificate was pre-
sented to Mrs. M. Lamond .by
Mrs. William Harper.
Robert S. Hoggartb
The death of Mr. Robert S.
Hoggarth, of Stratford occurred
on Monday. He had reached the
advanced age of 91 years, He
was a native of Hibbert and
farmed on the farm now occupied
by his grandson, Mr. Moss Hog-
garth,
He served the County of Perth
as treasurer for many years. He
is survived by two daughters, Mrs.
Alex McLaren, Cromarty, and
Mrs. Dr, McGavin, of Windsor,
and one son, Austin, of Toronto.

Mrs. Mervin Dow, is a patient
in Stratford hospital, having
undergone an operation for ap
pendictis.
Mrs. Harry Norris is spending
a few days with her daughter and

Mr. Edgar Allen, of Mitchell,
visited on Tuesday with Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Allen.

Ken and Keith, of Carlingford,
visited Sunday•with Mr. and Mrs.
John Wallace.

Honor Church Officials
During Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the
United Church was held Thurs-
day evening, February 3, with the
minister, Rev. W. J. Rogers, act-
ing as chairman. James McAlli-
ster was named secretary for the
evening;' Splendid reports were
presented from all branches of
the church.

Rev. Rogers called upon Mr.
Bank Transfers
Mr. E. H. W. Forster, who
has been on the staff of the
Bank of Montreal here for the
past two years, has been appoint-
ed assistant accountant at City
Hall Branch, London.
Mr. A. G. McLean, oft Aylmer,
has been transferred to the Hen-
sall Branch to take Mr. Forster's
place.
Mr. Mervyn Eyre, who has
been on the staff of the Hensall
branch for the past one and a
half years has been transferred
to Aylmer and will leave shortly
to take over his new duties.

To Observe Anniversary

ing of Amber Rebekah Lodge No.
349. Mrs. Leona Parke reported
re the committee who were in
charge of the bogth at the arena
for two weeks. An invitation was
received from the Monkton Lodge
to attend their meeting on Fri-
day, February 11, when the mem-
bers or the 'Clinton Lodge are to
be the invited guests.

sor a euchre party on Wednesday,
February 23, in the Legion Hall.
Mr: Klaas van Wiren, Hensall,
who came to Canada five and a
half years ago from Holland, this
week received his citizenship
papers at Goderich.
Mr. Harry Horton was admit-
ted to St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don, on Thursday of this week in
the interest of his .health.

Elgin Rowcliffe who, in an in-
teresting Manner, reviewed the
early history of the church right
up to the present, He paid special
tribute to the retiring church
treasurer, Mr. G. M. Drysdale,
who has served devotedly in this
connection for a period of 30
years and who, owing to i11
health, has retired. His son, Mr.
R. J. Drysdale, has taken this
position.
Mr. Jack Corbett, who has
served as superintendent of the
Sunday School for six years, was
presented with a copy of the re-
vised version, of the Bible and an
address from the session. A mo-
tion of appreciation was; moved
to the minister and his wife by
Mr. Edison Forrest.
Contributing to the program
were Mrs. W. Fuss and T, J.
Sherritt who rendered solo. Ac-
companists were Miss Greta Lam-
mie and Mrs. Sherritt, Mr. S.
Ronnie conducted a song period
with Dr. McKelvle at the piano,
A pot luck supper preceded the
meeting. In charge of arrange-
ments was the evening Auxiliary.

The February meeting of the
W.A. and W.M.S. was held in the
basement of the church Wednes-
day afternoon with Mrs. Lee
Webber and Mrs, Wilfred Hunkin
as hostesses. Mrs. Ray Clarke,
vice-president of the W.M.S., was
in charge of the meeting.
The topic was given by Mrs.
William Cann, Mrs. Archie Mor-
gan, Mrs. W. J. Moores and Mrs.
William Rohde. The scripture
lesson was read by Mrs. Ernest
Pym and a Christian Stewardship
reading was given 'by Mrs, Reg
Hodgert.
Mrs. Mac Hodgert was in
charge of the program which con-
sisted of a reading, "The World
Is Mine," by Mrs. Robert Simp-
son; a piano solo' by Mrs. Reg
Hodgert, and a reading, "Beati-
tudes Of A Homemaker," by Mrs.
Mac Hodgert.
A committee was named to
plan the program for the World
Day of Prayer to be held in
Thames Road Church on Febru-
ary 25, when the Elimville ladies
will be present.

At Chiselhurst United Church
on Sunday, Rev. W. J. Rogers
paid tribute to the late T. D.
Wren, who bequeathed a substan,
tial legacy to the church,
Mr, Wren, while unable to at-
tend church because of a physical
handicap, served faithfully as the
treasurer and showed great in-
terest in other phages of church
work.
At the same service, Rev. Rog-
ers presented certificates and
seals to Sunday School children.

longest attendance record. She re-
ceived her . fourteen -year seal.
Ten-year seal was presented to
Mrs. B. Munn and Mr. Harold
