McClymont. • Mrs. William Windor and Mrs. Elston received word last week of the sudden death of their cousin, Mrs, William Cook, in Goderich. Mrs. Cook suffered a heart attack while attending church and passed away instant- ly. Mr. and Mrs. Cook were well known in this district. Miss Merle Deckert, London, spent the weekend with her par- ents, Mr, and Mrs. N. Deckert, Mr, John Gackstetter and Mr. Edward Gackstetter, of near Zur- ich, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. A. Gackstetter. Mrs. Elston Dawson and Mrs. William Windor received word last weekend of the sudden pass- ing of their cousin, Mrs. George Huller, in Clinton. Mr, and Mrs. Fred Rowntree, of Weston, spent the weekend with the former's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Long. Mr .and Mrs. E. Dawson visit- ed one day last week with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. Kerr, of Winthrop. Data On • Dashwood By MRS. E. H. RADER Skating Party The members of the Walther League of Zion Lutheran Church enjoyed a skating party and social evening with members of the Blue Water zone in Mitchell Community Centre Wednesday evening. Celebrate Anniversary On the occasion of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Restemayer's twenty- fourth wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Restemayer held a social evening in •their honour. The evening was spent in dancing and cards. Dashwood W,I. The regular W.I. meeting was held Tuesday, January 25. Mrs. Ervin Rader spoke on the motto "Leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determina- tion". Mrs. Gordon Bender, convenor of historical research and cur- rent events, was in the chair. Mrs. Arnold Kuntz gave a report of the visit to the Huron County Home and of a euchre party held in January. As treasurer, she re- ported $195;30 in the bank. Reports of the standing com- mittees were given by Mrs. C. Snell, Mrs. R. Miller, Mrs. G. Bender and Mrs. H. Rader. Ten dollars was voted to U.N.- E.S.C.O. Mrs. George Anderson recited "The Village Gossip". Mrs. Ervin Schade, Mrs. Rudolph Miller, Mrs. Art Allemand and Mrs. Sid Baker were appointed to plan a euchre in February. Mrs. Kenneth Johns, district president, as guest speaker, said the institute was the most widely - spread organizations of women in the world and was started with the idea of helping the rural women? The institute has been instru- mental in .getting music in schools, building community halls and libraries, promoting public speaking and beautifying the countryside. She praised the Dashwood ladies for their work in the two years since they were organized. She outlined the his- tory of South Huron district since its organization. Mrs. E. Rader conducted a contest on current events, Mrs. Bender's group served ice cream and cake. William Rothaermel William Rothaermel, 57, for- merly of Dashwood, who died in St. Catharine's General Hospital Saturday, operated a bakery here for some time and was also em- ployed at Zurich. Surviving is his wife, the for- mer Ella Keller. The body arrived in Dashwood Sunday and rested at the Hoff- man Funeral Home until Tues- day at 2 p.m., when services were conducted by Rev. L. Higenell. Interment was made in Lutheran Bronson Line Cemetery. Personal Items Miss Vera Wieberg, Waterloo, spent the weekend with her par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wieberg. Mr. Hartman Elsie, for many years a plumber here before re- tiring, disposed of his household articles at an auction sale Satur- day. He is moving to the County Horne at Clinton. Miss Thelma Eifert, of Detroit, is vacationing with Mrs. Tillie Restemayer and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Restemayer. Mrs, Jacob Schroeder received word on Sunday, January 80 that her son-in-law, Mr. Egmont Brewer, of NOW Hamburg, had passed away, The funeral was held in NeW Hamburg on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs, filen gown,. of Loddon, spent Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. William Wien, Miss Margaret Sehade, Zurich, spent a couple Of days with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs, Dan Hensall District News Legion Auxiliary Host To Rally The Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion, Branch 468 Hensall, held its regular monthly meeting in the Legion Hall on Tuesday night, February 1 with the past president, Mrs. S. Ran- nie ,in the chair, Mrs, Letitia Sangster took the chair for the installation of the president, Mrs. D, 1vlcKelvie, who was unable to attend the last meeting. Mrs. Mc- Kelvie then presided for the meeting, Mrs. H. Horton was standard bearer, Mrs. A. Clark made the presentation of a pin and badge to the past president. The ladies will continue cater- ing to the Kinsmen. It was de- cided to hold another euchre 'on Wednesday night, February 23; each member to bring one or two guests. The Auxiliary members will be in charge of the ,Red Cross can- vass as usual, Those offering to collect were Mrs. E, Davis, Mrs. H. Horton, Mrs. L. Sangster, Mrs. W. Smale, Mrs. J. Sim- mons won the mystery prize, Injured In Fall LAC Gerald Moore, 21, ROAF Station Clinton, suffered back in- juries when he fell down a num- ber of snow covered cement steps in front of the town hall Monday night. He was ,taken to the base hospital at ,RCAF Station Clinton where he was treated and later released. Constable Lee Gesell of Hensall investigated. Message From Greenway By MRS. Fr, Kenneth Dietrich, of Scarboro Foreign Mission Society, who is leaving in the near future for the Phillipian Islands, was tendered a farewell Teception on Monday evening in the town hall, Zurich, attended by 250 parish- ioners from 'St. Boniface Parish, Zurich, Rev.
