The theme, "The best prepara- tion for good work tomorrow is to do good work today," was taken by Mrs. Bari Morley. The scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Fraser Dixon. An interesting history on St. Mary's Anglican Church, Brins- ley, was given by Mrs. Andrew Erskine. This church was Mrs. kirskine's first church. She told of the first building, which was sit- uated at Grundy's Corners, at the corner of No. 4 Highway and the McGillivray county road, where now stands the' tiny eeni tery. Community events were given by Mrs. Kenneth Sholdice. Mrs. Beatrice Dixon reported on the area convention which had been held in London in the Fall. Mrs. Fred Fenton entertained with a ,piano instrumental, The contest conducted by Mrs. Beat- rice Dixon was won by Mrs. Mal- colm Allision. Mrs. N. D. Knox and Mrs. hector Hey- wood received the guests at the door, The bake table was con- vened by Mrs. William Middleton, Mrs. H. Bierling and Mrs. J. Lux- ton. The tea tables were centred by original bpwls of white chrysan- themums were afterwards taken to the sick of the parish:, and were convened by Mrs. R, Ge tt er Mrs, Seth Winer, Mrs.. L, Gibson, Mrs. C, Acheson and Mrs. G. Rether. A great deal ,of fun was enjoy- ed by guessing the number of beans in a jar—this was convened by Mrs. V. Heywood and the win- ner of the delicious angel Cake donated by Mrs. Ellerington, was Mrs. Hector Heywood, who guess- ed .the exact number, 1,800. Mr, Rader donated a beautiful plant, Mrs, Gibson, a satin cushion, and Mrs. MacTaggart, a hand -made quilt, all of which were sold for good prices.
