This may seem to en croach on papers which are exclus ively farm weeklies, but I hardly think so, because these farm weeklies have to cover jects, whereas deal only with of interest to culture carried After all, the success of the rural weekly newspaper is wrapped up in the success of the district in which it is published, and, therefore, every worthwhile movement for the ad vance of the community is beneficial at once to both the community and the paper. MAKING CANADA A Better Place in Which to Live and Work t LETTER NO. 31 Dear Sir: 1 appreciate the compliment con veyed in your letter asking if I had any suggestions to idake which might be helpful to publishers of the rural weekly newspapers. The suggestions which I might Jrd'ake, I am afraid, would bear on their face my lack of knowledge and experience along the lines to which you refer. The first thought that oc curs to me, however, is that publish ers of rural weekly newspapers after the style and vigorous editorial pol icy of some outstanding rural week lies which come to my attention. It would seem to me a mistake for rural weekly, newspapers to attempt to compete with the large metropol itan! dailies in many of their features, but on the other hand, I am sure that in their own community they can perform a worthwhile service by mak ing a study of the conditions and of the ways and means in which their community might be advanced. If the territory is rural as you sug gest, Lam inclined to think that news, featuring current developments SEE RE,D"SEE RIGHT!
