Blyth Man Injured
An accident took place on No. 8
Highway a mile east of Clinton on
Thursday night. The driver of the
car, Norman Hamm, of Blyth, suff
ered a fractured left hand. He wgs
going west on No. 8 Highway and
lost control of his car which hit an
icy spot. The car went into the ditch
on the north side of the road and hit
a laneway culvert, turning over nose
first.

Died from Exposure
I Forest — Coroner Dr. J. P. Hub
bard., after investigating the death in
a snowbank of Clarence Bright, an
nounced the 23-year-old semi-crippled
youth had died of exposure. The Cor
oner said there would be no inquest.
Bright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Bright, Tenth Concession, Plympton
[ Township, was found dead, lying face
downward, in a deep snowdrift a mile
t from his home.

Guns Stolen at Arthur
Burglars who broke into the hard
ware store of O. B. Henry and Com
pany, Arthur, stole several shotguns
and a quantity of ammunition. Loss
was estimated at $150, Firm officials
were unable to state how many wea
pons were missing.
Died of Typhoid Following Operation
Mrs. Henry Rader Jr., near Dash
wood, died suddenly on Thursday
from typhoid fever following a mas
toid operation. The departed woman
who was only 31 years old, had suf
fered for some time with pains in the
head and when an operation was re
sorted to, a succession of ailments
followed, resulting finally in her
death.

Clinton Man Has 90th Birthday
Reaching another milestone, David
Cantclon on Saturday celebrated his
90th birthday. A real veteran, he is
still hale and hearty and actively en
gaged in the business of livestock
buying every day. This year he has 1

of 12 miles a huge amount of money,
somewhere over the $80,000 mark.
Close to 4,000 hogs have been ship
ped, 1,300 lambs, and some 20 calves.
He tells interesting stories of his ear
ly days in the apple buying business.
Fortunes have been lost and reclaim
