Born—On Thursday, August 13th, at Lucknow, to Mr. and Mrs. John Kilpatrick (need Annie Robinson) a daughter. Mr. Wilfred Jacques, of Sudbury, is spending his holidays here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Jacques. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Scholtz and lit­ tle son, Clayton, moved into the house vacated by Mrs. Patterson last week. Mr. and Mrs. John Falconer and Mr. and Mrs. James Falconer and Lois, and Rcllison Falconer, spent the week-end at Caledon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Welwood, and Charlie Falconer, who has been holi­ daying there, returned home with them. Miss Anftlia Lever, of London, .spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lever, Many friends in this district of Mr. and. Mrs. Alec Lever, will sympathize with them in Mrs. Lever’s illness in Wingham Hospital. She had bones in both her legs fractured on Satur­ day when she was trampled by a run­ away team. Miss Marian Casemore, of Turn­ berry, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Casemore, Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Will Shaw and Shirley, of New Toronto, are spend­ ing this week at the home of her mo­ ther, Mrs. Jas. MacGregor. Mrs. August Lisso, of Ayr, and Mrs. Smith, formerly Emma Strove, of Hespeler, were in this community last week, renewing old acquaintances here and at Langside. Many of the Kinloss folks took ad­ vantage of the aeroplane rides Fri­ day last. They were stationed on the farm of Mr. John Richardson. Rev. Donald Nicholson of Bucking­ ham, Que., visited at the home of Mr, and Mrs, W. R. Farrier on Friday last. Mr, and Mrs. Alec Naylor of Fort Erie, and his sisters, Mrs, Bell and Mrs. Bailey, of Blyth, visited at the home of their brother, Mr. B, 5. Nay­ lor, one day last week, and on Sun­ day,. Mr. and Mrs, Will Proctor and their daughter, Mrs. Kerr, and her baby son, Jack, visited there. Inglis and Barbara, of Clifford, and John, of Toronto, and Miss Nellie, Kenebeek, and Miss Morgan of Toronto, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. . Edgar Gaunt, of Marnoch, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davidson. Miss Phyllis Parsons and Miss Dorothy and Fred Barbour, o£ Suth­ erland, Sask., visited for a few days last week at the home of Mr. Wm. Barbour, and they and Miss Gene­ vieve Watt are visiting with Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Watt, of Southampton. Mrs. A. Fox spent-a few days last week at St. Helens at the nome of her sister, Mrs. Wm. Humphrey. Miss Janet Scobie, Wilton Grove, is spending the week-end with Miss Agnes Gillespie. Mr. and Mrs, Chas. Martin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thompson and Floyd, and other Wingham rela­ tives spent Sunday at Point Qlarke. Miss Bertha Mackay of Stratford, spenCthe week-end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hector Mackay. Mrs. Weaver and son, Kenneth, motored to Palmerston on Sunday and spent the day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Boyd. Mrs. VanAlstyne and her brother, Mr. John McQuoid, of Rochester, N. Y., visited one day last week at the h’ome of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Patter­ son. Rev. and Mrs. J. Pollock are away on their .holidays at present and his son, Jack, has taken the services in the different churches on Sunday. We congratulate him on his ability to take the work so acceptably. Mr. Chas. Wightman and Miss May spent Sunday with Mrs. Brigham of Blyth. Rev. and Mrs. W. J. WatJ and fam­ ily, who have been holidaying at the home of Mr, Wm. Barbour, returned to their home at Long Branch last Thursday. Lit­ tle Maxine Reed sang a solo. On ac­ count of the activities of the aero­ planes on the. 4th Con., and the busy time, there was not as large an at­ tendance at this meeting as usual: Mrs. Cecil Falconer was hostess and served a very dainty lunch. The next meeting is the Grandmothers’ meet­ ing. Mr. Wilfred Jacques and Mr. Char­ lie Henderson are spending a few days this week in Toronto.
