Mrs. Bannerman and Bert, and Mr. and Mrs. Milton, Ross and their two children, of Riversdale, spent Sunday at the heme of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Mowbray. Miss Catharine Patterson, nurse-in- training in Stratford Hospital, is spending her holiday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Henry Patterson. Mr. George Miller, of Souris, Man., is visiting at the home of his cousin, Mr. Walter Lott. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lincoln and Lance spent a couple of days with friends in Toronto. Miss Mabie Coin who has been holidaying here, return­ ed to the city with them. Mrs. Rae Little who has spent the past couple of weeks with her par­ ents, returned to Toronto on Satur- Mr. Mason and son, Alfred, were week-end guests with Mr. Norman Muir. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wray, of Tor­ onto, and Mrs. John Wray, of Wrox­ eter, visited on Friday with their cou­ sins, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Stokes. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Huggan, of Brussels, also Mr. and Mrs, Melvin Willitts and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H, Marshall. Miss Anne Douglas, of Gorrie, vis­ ited on Tuesday last with her friend, Mrs. David Eadie. Mr, David Brown and friend, also Miss Helen Brown and Mr. Harry Brown, of Elora, were Sunday visit­ ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ar­ thur Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Douglas, of Clifford, visited recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Stokes. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Mathers and family returned to their home at Hepworth on Saturday after a week’s stay. They were called to London due to the serious illness and death of his mother. Sorry to hear Mr. Carman Hether­ ington is sick at his home and has been under the doctor’s care. We hope.for a speedy recovery. Miss Ethel Johnston is home for the rest of the holidays. She spent six weeks in London taking a course in music. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Mr. and Mrs. Ervie Thomas and family, who have resided in this com­ munity for the past six years have gone to live in Niagara Falls, Ont. Although sorry to lose them, we wish them every success in their new home. Mr. Thomas has gone to re­ sume his former trade, as electrician. Some five or six car-loads of young people from this locality attended a picnic at Grand Bend last Saturday and report a pleasant time on the lake shore. Dr. W. W. Weir, of Toronto, spent a couple of days with his mother, Mrs. Wm, Weir. We are glad to report that Mrs. John Fitch and Mrs. George Lane, who are patients in the London hos­ pital, are slowly recuperating. We hope to see them able to come back home soon. Mr. Stocks, of Wroxeter, will oc­ cupy the pulpit here next Sunday. Held Service for Departed Member Mrs. Thomas Wilson, Jamestown, was the hostess on Thursday after­ noon for the meeting of the Woman's Association of the United Church. Mrs, Nellie Scott presided and con­ ducted an impressive memorial serv­ ice in memory of the late Mrs. Geo. Mathers.
