MERRY CHRISTMAS
TO ALL
HOCKEY
In the true spirit of theatre this young actor hitches up his pyjamas and repeats the line that he
just made a mistake delivering, while a fellow student, playing a Christmas tree complete with
lights, tries not to laugh. The two are part of, the cast of this year's Christmas concert at
Holmesville •School, (staff-photo)
Goderich township Hockey

day morning in the Clinton

cover ice expenses and perhaps
purchase sweaters' or such
another year. This group is
meeting again at 11:00 a.m.
this Sunday morning, Decem-
ber 22 in the Clinton arena.
Your temporary organizer is
Alison Lobb.
There are township resident
people interested in "Murder
Ball" for 16 years and over, At

REC COMMITTEE
• Holmesville Public School's
principal Bob Reaburn was em-
cee at the School's Christmas
Concert on Monday afternoon,
and again Tuesday night,
December 17.
Although there were two per-
formances, the auditorium
overflowed into the corridor on
Tuesday evening.
Mr. Reaburn brought to the
attention of all that the school
,facilities are being used more
regularly. Outside of school
hours, there were 20 evenings
booked out of the possible 30 in
November.
Music Teacher Mrs. Stewart
was then presented with a
lovely red and white rose bud
corsage , by Janice Miller and
Susan Williams, With thanks
given by Mrs. Stewart)she then
conducted the newly formed
school band in three tunes.
This band has been going about
2 1 /2 months.
All performances were excep-
tionally well done with Snoopy
howling Jingle Bells in Charlie
Brown's Christmas. Snoopy
was Allan Vanderende from
Grade 4, Grade 6 and 7 acted
the 12 days of Christmas and
successfully stacked 12 gift
wrapped boxes during the
motions. Darrell Postill and
Bobbie Thompson had the
largest and last two boxes to be
placed under the other ten
boxes.
,Grade 6 had a play "The
Spirit of Christmas" with Lisa
Ryan in the lead and the in-
visible spirit (a green elf) who
was Murray Hoggart, was
about the stage continually.
' The stage hands did a good
job of moving stage equipment
on and off as required.
The last three performances
were by Grade 7 and 8's Senior
School Choir, who led in the
closing of 0 Canada. Everyone
then journeyed • home on the
slippery roads.
We thank you for your continued good will.
KEN BOB DAVE
PICKETT CAMPBELL CORNISH
the home of the Chairman and
his wife, Jerry and Jean Ginn,
The meeting opened with John
Westbrook reading last
month's minutes which were
approved by the chairmah.
It was then discussed and
finalized that the free skating
party will be on Monday,
December 30 from 8:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m, in the Goderich
Arena and it is open only to
any and all residents of
Goderich Township.
It was also mentioned that
the $1,00 registration that has
been charged will go to major
development in recreation in
Goderich Township if not
needed for immediate expenses,
The committee was told that
this municipality has a great
future. in the next two to five
years, so let's get involved,
There is no age limit on the
Goderich Township Hockey'
Group but you cannot belong to
any other league.
Goderich Township is
hosting a. Christmas dinner at
the Candlelight Inn for council,
township employees and the
Recreation Committee „with
their wives .and husbands. This
is at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Decem-
ber 27.
The All-Seasons Survival
Course is still being looked into
by committee members. The
$1.00 registration has been
questioned by some par-
ticipants but the reason is to
try and have each group self-
supporting, within reason at
this time.
Remember, cross-country
skiing is getting closer to being
possible with the snow here so
do re-contact each other and
report to a committee member
for further organizing.
Hugh Lobb reminded the
committee that he will be
organizing floor-hockey for
Saturday mornings at the
school starting January 11 and
all who have paid registration
in volleyball can re-register
free. Remember everyone must
be 16 years old and under.
At this time the Goderich
Township Square Dance group
is small and they have joined
the Hullett Township group. -
One proposal is a ball park
with lights near Holmesville,so
watch and ht.lp the Goderich
Township Recreation
Organization expand!
Season's Greetings were
wished to all and Audrey Mid-
dleton thanked the anonymous
couple for their kindness and
information on ceramics, '
Audrey also thanked the host
and hostess .Jerry and .Jean
Ginn who prepared and served
a delicious lunch.
The next regular township
recreation meeting will be held
on the fourth Wednesday of
January being the 22nd at 8:30
