Mair in her 02nd year. Beloved wife
of .:the late John_ Stewart Mair, The
funeral service was held on Sunday,
October 20th at.2;00 p.m. from the
Ball Funeral Home, 1'53 High
Street, Clinton. Interment in Clin-
ton Cemetery.
JOHNSTON - In Georgetown on
Tuesday, October 15, 1974, 'Mary
(Sowerby) Johnston of Goderich
Tvvp,, beloved wife of the late J.
Reginald Johnston. Dear mother of
Harold of Georgetown; sister of
Mrs, Ernest (Ella) Bogie and Mrs.
Elizabeth Sitter, both of Goderich;
Thomas. Sowerby of Goderich Twp.
Five grandchildren and three great
grandchildren also survive. The
funeral was held at the McCallum
Funeral Home, Cambria Road,
Goderich at 1:30 o'clock. Friday. In-
terment was in Maitland Cemetery,

Officials of the Ausable-
Bayfield Conservation
Authority were surprised when
150 persons turned up Sunday
afternoon for a planned hike
around their 67-acre Bannock-
burn Wildlife Area located in
Stanley Township, three and a
half miles northwest of
Brucefielcl.

join body
Clinton Senior Citizens met
in Clinton Town Hall. As this
was the first meeting of the
year the new executive was in-
troduced. During the business
period which was conducted by
the new Treasurer, Mrs. Leona
Lockhart, it was decided to af-
filiate with the United Senior
Citizens of Ontario Inc. which
has about 700 groups in On-
tario affiliated. A number sub-
scribed to "Voice" official
magazine of U.S.C.O.
A few new members were
welcomed bringing the group's
strength to about 70..
During the social time, Mrs.
M. Wiltse gave an interesting
and humorous reading. W.
Webster played several num-
bers on his harmonica and Mrs,
H. Johnston was pianist. A
door prize was won by Russell
Hohmes. The Winners at cards
were Mrs. B. Cobean, Mrs. C.
Cunningham, Mrs. M. Wiltse,
Aaron Fisher and George
Glazier,
Lunch was served.
Next meeting will be held
November 6.

The hikers were led on a trail
through cedar bush, up the
Bannockburn Valley slope
through a mixed hardwood
forest of oak, maple, beech,
hickory and wild apple, along
open rolling grasslands and
back down and along the river
to the gate.
Larry Lamb, an experienced
naturalist, pointed out the
Huronic Rebekah Lodge held
its regular meeting Monday
evening when District Deputy

The hikers crossed three new
bridges built, by SWEEP
students this summer using the
cedar trees from the area itself
and gabion baskets of stones.
Mr. Martin said the area will
have minimal development but
will be a wildlife habitat. He
said some trees and shrubs may
be planted that would supply
food for the birds and animals.
