Don Buchanan. Ushers were Bev. Bromley, Larry Howatt, Ken' Longman, and Darrell Shob- brook with Danny Lear assisting in the evening. Our own choir supplied music for the morning service under the directien of Mrs. Allen Shad- dick and organist Mrs, Allen Bosman with Louise Lovett at the piano singing "He's my Friend' and "Lead me to the Rock". The morning guest minister was Rev. Don Dees of Mitchell United Church. His children' story was "your sin will always find you out", His message was "come to the party". The evening service was con- ducted by Rev. McDonald with Rev. Wray Mathers of London as guest minister, and a former minister, at Blyth U.C. His message was "In such a time". Vie were honored to have visiting choir The Belgrave Male Voice Choir under the leadership. of Rev. John Roberts with Doreen Anderson at the piano singing "Sweet is the work,""Holy City" and "We are climbing Jacob's lad- der". - The church was nicely decorated with autumn flowers, The flowers on the memorial stand were placed in loving memory of Jack Medd by his wife and family. E,S.T, CHEERIO CLUB MEETS The Cheerio Club held its meeting on Tuesday October 15 at the home of Laura Lyon. The meeting opened with Laura Lyon acting president, reading short poems on Autumn and Thanksgiving, Corn days and Thanksgiving corn song. Scripture was read and the hymn "Sing to the Lord of Harvest" was sung with Gladys Armstrong at the piano, The minutes of the last meeting were read by secretary Ida Dur- non Two 40th anniversary cards were sent, to Iri Dinzer and Ida Durnin: Roll call was answered by paying of dues One new member Alice Davidson, was welcomed. The draw, donated by Ida Townsend was won by Dora Shobbrook, Treasurer's report was given, Business was for the executive to plan for a social evening to be held in Novem, ber, November meeting to be held at the home of Ena Howatt. A 'reading "3 rooms and a path" was read by Ida Townsend, Ida Durnin spoke a few words to'.Elsie Yungblut who has been a Cheerio Club, originally Grandmothers Club, member for 25 years and has now moved to Clinton to live. She was presented with a gift. A few games of court wist was played conducted by Edythe Beacon and Dorothy Little, High score was won by Jewel Cowan. Lunch was served by Ida Townsend, Laura Lyon and Ida Durnin. LONDESBOROUGH HI C MEETS The Hi C group met at the school on Friday evening for their monthly recreation night. The large attendance of young people enjoyed an evening of basketball and volleyball under the direction of executive mem- ber Marsha McNeil; and her committee, The group then returned to the manse for lunch and the remainder of the evening in fellowship. LONDESBORO CUBS The 1st Londesborough cubs met on Thursday evening with 30 boys in attendance. Leader Clair McClure conducted the opening and closing exercises and each pack assisted the new members in their tenderpad requirements. Plans were made for the annual Apple Day to be held on Saturday, October 26 beginning at 9 a.m. Boys were asked to have their parents drive them on their routes. Russell Good and Joe Yungblut. Jayne Slade, daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. Raymond Snell, Lon- desboro, received a Bachelor of Arts degree ih music at Con vocation recently held at The University of Guelph. She is continuing her studies at O.T.E.C., Hamilton. . Mr. and Mrs, Henry Yungblut, Niagara Falls; and Mr, and Mrs, John Lyons visited on the weekend with Mr. Jiie Yungblut and Mr. and Mrs, Russell Good. Sympathy is extended to the family of Jack Medd who passed away in Victoria Hospital, London following a lengthy illness, Rev, Stanley McDonald at- tended the funeral of the late Mrs. Pearl Miller in Listowel on Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Alexander spent last Thursday and Friday at the University of Guelph, atten- ding the 0. A. C. Centennial Symposium on "Land Resour- ces-The next Hundred Years". Mr. and Mrs. Russell Good and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Popp attended the Turvey-Yungbut wedding and reception in' Woodstock on Friday night Oc- tober 18. Mr. and Mrs: Ross Millson and family Woodstock, spent weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bert hobbrook and attended the wedding of their niece Valerie Garron to Robert Miller' in Londesboro United Church.
