the May 4 wedding of Barbara
Ellen MacLeod and James Eric
Vidal, both of Toronto. Rev, G.
L. Royal officiated at the
double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Viktor Pagon,
Goderich, Mrs. Eric Vidal, La
Bret, Saskatchewan, and the
late Eric Vidal are the parents
of the groom.
Wedding music was supplied
by Wm. Cameron, church
organist. Piper Glen
MacGregor, Brucefield, piped
Amazing Grace during the
signing of the register and also
piped the bridal party in and
out of the church.
The bride was escorted to the
altar by her father. She wore a
floor-length gown of cham-
pagne pink Imported Swiss
Chiffon over satin, hand
designed in France. A chiffon
rose topped a back buss,le
which flowed into a three-foot
train over a large full skirt, ruf-
fled at the hemline. A high ruf-
fled collar topped the bodice
which featured long fitted sheer
sleeves with ruffles at the
wrists. A tiny pearl cross was
her only jewelry. A handmade
chiffon 'rose headpiece held her
four-layer champagne pink and
white shoulder-length veil. She
carried a bouquet of rose pink
baby roses and lily of the valley
arranged in a cascade effect
which fell to her knees.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Linda Machan, Sarnia. She
wore a dress of woven mauve
cotton with fine lace ribbing
through it. It was styled with a
scoop neckline, short puff
sleeves and a ruffle at the
hemline. A deep purple ribbon
accented the empire waistline
and was tied in a bow at back
with long streamers. She wore
a matching mauve nylon, large
brimmed hat with a deep pur-
ple band and bow at the back,
and carried a large white straw
basket filled with deep purple
petunias, white daisies and
mauve dried flowers. A delicate
deep purple ribbon adorned the
handle of the basket at one
side,
Bridesmaids were Mrs.
Sharon Brindley, sister of the
bride, RR 4, Goderich; Mrs.
Suzanne Kolkman, sister of the
bride RR, 6, Goderich; Mrs.
Janet Durbatch, Toronto; and
Miss Joanne Smith, Toronto,
They were gowned identically
to the matron of honor except
in colors of green, blue, coral
and yellow respectively. They
carried large white baskets of
daisies, petunias, lily of the
valley, ivy and dried mini
flowers in colors to match their
dresses. Each basket was tied
with a delicate ribbon to match
each dress. All baskets and
gowns were arranged by La
Boutique.
Junior bridesmaid was Miss
Mary Lynn Pagon, sister of the
bride, Goderich. She was
gowned in pale pink over
darker pink lining in material
and style as worn by the senior
bridesmaids. She wore a mat-
ching large brimmed hat and
carried a .lace parasol filled
with pale pink daisies and
white, lily of the valley. Pale
white streamers touched off the
parasol arranged by La
Boutique.
Groomsman was John
MacDonald, brother-in-law of
the groom, La Bret, Saskat-
chewan. Ushers were Chuck
MacLeod, uncle of the bride,
Toronto; Richard Durbatch,
Toronto; Henry Kolkman,.
brother-in-law of the bride,, RR
6, Goderich; and James Brin-
dley, brother-in-law of the
bride, RR 4, Goderich.
Ringbearer was Andrew
Telford, Goderich, dressed -in
Highland outfit wearing the
bride's tartan.
Pink candles and pink
gladioli decorated Sunset Golf
and Country Club where the
wedding reception was held.
The bride's mother received
her guests in a floor-length
gown featuring a bodice of
pastel ice blue and brown in
paisley design imported chiffon
over creme background and a
creme-color light crimp skirt.
The bodice had a high neckline
with mandarin collar and long
fitted sleeves. Her corsage of
delicate white lily of the valley
with blue dried flowers was
tied with a dark brown ribbon.
The groom's mother selected
a floor-length mint green crepe
dress with long mint green chif-
fon sleeves. The bodice was
styled with a roll collar. She
wore beige accessories. Her cor-
sage was of yellow carnations.
Following a wedding break-
fast held Sunday morning for
the bride and groom and all
their out-of-town guests at the
bride's home, the young couple
left on a two-week honeymoon
trip to Hawaii. The bride
travelled in a lovely light
weight woolen linen two-piece
ensemble featuring a black
sleeveless dress designed with
an eight-sectioned A-line skirt
and a matching black jacket fit-
ted elegantly at the waist. It
had white rounded French
lapels and white rounded
French cuffs. Tiny white
covered buttons .accented the
waistline of the jacket and the
cuffs. Her hat was also hand-
tailored in matching material
with a large floppy brim. The
topside of the brim was white
with black topstitching. Her
going-away ensemble was
designed especially for her by
La Boutique. She wore white
wrist gloves and black' and
white shoes. Her delidate cor-
sage was of white lily of the
valley with dark red dried
flowers.
The couple are residing in
Toronto.
Out-of-town guests were
present from Ottawa, Toronto,
Parry Sound, Bracebridge,
Detroit, Kitchener, Stratford,
Windsor, Whitechurch, Lon-
don, La Bret, Saskatchewan,
and the surrounding area.
Before her marriage, the
bride was feted at several pre-
nuptial events. Showers were
given by Mrs, Shirley
Straughan and Mrs. , Lois.
Straughan in Goderich; by Mrs.
Linda Machan of Sarnia and
Mrs. Sharon Britidley, Mrs.
Suzanne Kolkman and Miss,
Mary Lynn Pagon, in Goderich;
by Mrs. Richard Durbatch,
Toronto; and by Miss Nanette
Ouellette, Goderich,
An engagement dinner was
hosted by Mr. and Mrs. J, L.
MacPhail, aunt and uncle of
the bride, Toronto.
