sitting has highest priority
Good night's sleep before picture
is taken, urged by professionals
High on a bride-to-be's
list of "musts" should be a
notation to make an ap-
pointment with a • profes-
sional portrait photogra-
pher.
Most young women want
two kinds of photographs:
a formal photograph of the
bride alone before the wed-
ding; bride and groom,
wedding party, and candids
at the church and recep-
tion. The professional pho-
tographer is prepared and
trained to do both. He's
proud of his reputation and
eager to help you with pro-
fessional advice and skill.
The first step toward a
permanent record is to
make an appointment for
your formal photograph.
This should be done as soon
as you know the date of the
final fitting for your gown.
At the same time your pho-
tographer . will advise about
photographs for the news-,
papers, grooming and bou-.
quet for the formal photo-.
graph, and how 'to prepare
for the candids you desire.
For the Newspapers
Most photographers take
bridal portraits at least
three weeks before the wed-
ding. They know that most
newspapers use bridal, pho-
tographs only the day of
or after the wedding. Few.
photographers advise tak-
ing formal photographs the
day of the ceremony. The
bride is usuallynervous, the
bridesmaids eager to get to
the reception and emergen-
cies frequently develop to
add to the confusion.
Many photographers have
wedding forms they are
happy to send the bride.
_These should be typed' with'
names and descriptions for
newspaper publication. The
photographer will be happy.
to mail the complete form
and glossy prints to the
newspapers, but does not
take responsibility for the
paper's using them.
If the bride chooses to de-
liver her wedding news per-
sonally, she should check on
deadlines,
Kodak professional pho-
tography experts agree that
once the date for photog-
raphy has been set, there
are a number of things the
individual can do on her
own to prepare for a flatter-
ing portrait. First of all, get
a good night's sleep the
night before photography
so your eyes will sparkle.
Ask your hair stylist to de-
sign a simple hairdo that will
look well with your head-
piece and veil. If the pho-
tographer has special make-
up requirements for the film
he uses, he will advise you.
Certainly, a bride should
avoid a painted look in her
formal portrait. But the
one place she can "dress up"
, with makeup is her eyes.
Byer; can stand accenting
with a conservative amount
of mascara, shadow and
brow makeup,
Advise Photographer
If you have a special fea-
ture of your bridal ensem-
ble, be sure to advise your
photographer. Perhaps your
gown includes some heir-
loom lace or you will carry
a special keepsake the pho-,
tographer should feature. - -
Candids taken at the
wedding require advance
planning too.
Though pictures for news-
papers should be in black
and white, most brides pre-
, fer all their other wedding
photographs in beautiful
• direct color.
