BY TOM TREMFIX
Question: Recently we tiled
the floor of our basement rec-
reation room but not the ad-
joining laundry area, as we
were afraid the tiles would be
affected by the excess mois-
ture. But now, in comparison,
this area looks bad, and it has
a musty odour. Any sugges-
tion?
Answer: A good gloss paint
made especially for concrete
surfaces will make your base-
ment laundry area look great
and help stop theft musty
odour. Try Trento() Color-
tread concrete paint, a rub-
ber-base paint that seals out
moisture and dampness and
provides a tough, long-lasting
finish, You can apply Color-
tread with a brush, roller, or
spray, and use your laundry
room just two hours later.
To apply Colortread con-
crete paint, make the floor,as
clean and dust-free as pos-
sible.' Scrub greasy or soapy
areas around laundry tubs,
etc. with turpentine. Rough
the entire area with a 10%
muriatic acid solution, and
rinse, to let paint penetrate
the surface. Allow to dry com-
pletely before applying Color-
tread.
Colortread requires no pri-
Mei% For 'best results, two
coats are recommended.
Trott-kw Colortread paint
comes in five decorative col-
ours, in Imperial gallons and
quarts. One gallon covers
about 400 square feet.
