Auditor's Report
To: The Members of Council, and Ratepayers of the Corporation
of the Town of Clinton.
I have examined the 1973 financial statements of the Corporation of
the Town of Clinton and its local boards, which are listed on the at-
tached Index. My examination included a general review of the ac-
counting procedures and such tests of accounting records and
other supporting evidence as I considered necessary in the circum-,
stances.
In my opinion these financial statements present fairly the financial
position of the Corporation of the Town of Clinton and its local
boards as at December 31st, 1973, and the results of their
operations for the year then ended, in accordance with accounting
principles generally accepted for Ontario municipalities applied on
a basis consistent with that of the preceding year.

Bluebird Society
The Bayfield Area Bluebird
Society is busy this week get-
ting new bluebird trails
established and are looking for
good countryside places to
mount their boxes. Please
watch for the following note
which may be put in your
mailbox soon.
"Any of you who may be at
least 50 years of age ,will
remember with pleasure the
bluebird nesting years ago in
the cedar posts along the roads.
They used abandoned wood-
pecker and flicker holes. But
with the loss of the fence posts
and with the aggressive starling
taking over all the available
suitable cavities for their own
nests, the bluebird has had a
rough time and is now almost
extinct in our area.
' But the bluebird can be
brought back. It will build in
man-made boxes. With federal
financial assistance from the
New Horizons program we have
made up many boxes and are
now putting them along the
township roads. The entrance
holes are too small to admit
starlings. We would like to in-
terview every owner of a fence
post where we think we might
get a bluebird. But this is a big
job and we think nearly all of
you would be glad to co-
operate.
""We may first mark the post
with a patch of coloured cloth,
however, if for any reason you
find we have mounted a box
where you would prefer not to
have it, please phone Bayfield

Youmatoff of Trinity Anglican
Church officiating. Interment

The late Mrs. Bailey will be
rememlNred by many readers
as the cogenial and lovely lady
who owned and operated the
Ritz Hotel in Bayfield
many, many years, When fire
destroyed the old Ritz Hotel on
'Labour Day weekend Aug. 30,
1947, Mrs. Bailey, undaunted
and in her late 60's, rebuilt the
New Ritz and continued to
operate it for several more
years. She was in good health
until a couple of years ago, but
always remained a lovable lady
and a ,gracious and delightful
hostess,
Sincere sympathy is extended
to her family.
