newspapers, If landowners ob-
ject, •they must notify the
ministry of the environment
and 'Ontario Hydro within 30
days. Then an Ontario
Municipal Board hearing will

meeting with a poem on

The business meeting was
then turned over to Mrs.
Charles Reid. Mrs. Harvey
Hayter read the minutes of the
last meeting and the roll call
was answered and Mrs. Charles
Reid gave the treasurer's
report. A' thankyou note was
read from the Smith family.
Mrs. Jane Davidson sent a
thankvou note for the donation
given to Father Abraham for
his project in India.
It was announced that there
would be a plant sale at our
May meeting.
Visitors' Day ' at Alma
College is April 13. The Spring
Presbyterial will be held on
May 22 in Seaforth.
There were 45 calls made to
the sick and shut-ins during the
month of March.
The meeting was closed with
the Lord's Prayer. Lunch was
served by hostesses Mrs. Mer-
vin Johnston, Mrs. Bill
Chessell, Mrs. .John John
Ostrom, and Mrs. Ivan
McClymont.

who testified at the hearing
suggested alternate routes to
Hydro. At the end of the two-
day hearing, Hydro officials

another route only if forced to

The Orange Lodge held their
bi-weekly card party on Friday

Ontario Hydro has served a
notice of application for ap-
proval to expropriate land from
seven properties in Bruce and
Huron counties.
The properties are on the
proposed route of a power .
corridor from Bradley June-
lion, 16 miles east of the Bruce
nuclear power development, to
Wingharn. The amount of land
required varies from 120 to 490
feet,

along the route was held in
Wingham Feb. 26-27. Inquiry
officer Mac Craig, an Owen
Sound lawyer, has not yet
made his recommendations on
the route to the ministry of the
environment.
Mr. Craig's secretary in
Owen Sound said Monday the
lawyer was on vacation until
this week. She said he would
complete his report when he
returns.
The 490-foot-wide right-of-
way is required on five proper-
ties in Greenock and Culross
townships in Bruce' County,
and in Turnberry ToWnship iii
Huron 'County. •
Gordon Lashchinger; of
Hydro's property division,
Toronto, said the commission
already has purchased
agreements on two of the
properties, but is prepared to
expropriate the other three.
The two other properties in-
volved are in Morris and'
McKillop townships in Huron
County. Mr. Lashchinger, said
a 120-foot-wide right-of-way
was required through each and•
two hydro towers would be
built. He said Hydro plans call
