HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2008-12-24, Page 19We asked the Grade 1 students at
Hullett Central Public School...
How would you get to Santa’s
house at the North Pole?
“I would take a train. Then Santa
would pick me up in his sled and
take me to his house.”
- Faith
“I would run, but then I would
walk when I got tired. It would be
cold, so I’d wear gloves and
snowpants.
I think it would take me 102
hours.” - Jared
“I would take a train. But then I
would ride a whale the rest of the
way. I would find the biggest
humpback whale and put seats on
the top and make sure it could break
through the ice.” - Teag
“I would take the train. I think
there would be a train that can go
from here right to Santa’s house.” -
Holly
“I would take a plane there. It
would be easy. I could just buy a
ticket and the plane would take me
right to Santa’s house. The plane
would have a big Santa picture on it
too, I think.
On the landing part, Santa would
be there to bring the plane down and
then he would take me for a ride in
his magic sled.
It would take about 10 hundred
days, but it would be worth it.” -
Alexander
“A rocket would take me there. It
would only take 10 minutes to get
right to Santa’s house. There would
be enough room for me to take my
friends and my grandparents.” -
Myea
“I would take an airplane. The
airplane would take you right to
Santa’s house and then he’d be
waiting to pick you up in his magic
sled. I think it would take about a
week to get there.” - Bailey
“You could maybe walk there,
but it would probably be snowy.
You’d have to get dressed up in a
cap and snowpants and mitts and
boots.
I think it would take 12 minutes
and then when you get there it looks
just like Christmas.” - William
“I would take a sled there. Not
Santa’s sled though, my own sled
and my dog Sadie could pull it there.
It would probably take about two
years to get there. It’ll be nice
enough when I get there. I’d
probably help Santa if he was
working to make toys with the
elves.” - Josh
“I would go there on a boat. I think
it would take about two hours. Then
when you got to the land, you could
just walk the rest of the way.
I would bring my dad to drive the
boat, I think he could figure out how
to get there.” - Claire
“I would get there on a plane or on
a helicopter, probably a helicopter. A
regular pilot would probably fly it
into the North Pole.
Then we could walk the rest of the
way.” - Malcolm
“I could take a plane there. It
would go right to Santa’s house, I
think.
I think it would cost like $2,000,
but then I could take all of my
friends. They would all want to see
Santa, because I think he’s eight feet
tall.”
- Owen
“First I’d put on a very warm coat, and then I’d take a snowmobilethere. You’d have to keep stoppingfor gas though.” - Colin“I would take an airplane. Itshould take about 20 hours to get
there. We’d get dropped off at the
North Pole and then take a taxi to
Santa’s house.” - Jason
