They took an early lead and never looked back. (Vicky Bremner photo) The Blyth PeeWee Rep Dogs tooka bite out of Wingham in hockeyaction Dec. 17. The first period showed lots of scoring opportunities for both teams but it was Blyth who put the puck in the net first. Connor Rodger passed to Spencer Stevenson who got Blyth on the board. The second period was scoreless with plenty of saves made by both goalies. The third period was action packed. Blyth’s Mike VanWyk passed to Arden Coultes who passed to Matt VanWyk. Matt VanWyk buried the puck in Wingham’s net. Then Matt VanWyk assisted Coultes who bulged the twine to make the score 3-0 for Blyth. Wingham came back a few seconds later to steal the shutout from goalie Dalton Carey. With just 14 seconds left in the game, Blyth’s Matt VanWyk sent one into the Wingham net with help fromConnor Rodger.The final score was 4-1 for Blyth.PeeWee Dogs take nipout of Wingham squad May you and your loved ones enjoy the many blessings this special time of year brings. Mitch Kellington, with help from Jordyn Sholdice tied the game at 1-1. Then Sholdice put in a quick one. Zurich tied it again then went ahead by one. But with just minutes left the coach pulled the goalie and increased Brussels’force. It paid off in the end with Kellington scoring, assisted by Wyatt Ducharme. The game ended 3-3. The team played Clifford on Wednesday, Dec. 17. With great team work Brussels put up many points on the scoreboard. Four goals were scored by Brock McLean, assisted by Smith and Ducharme. Two goals were scored by Kellington, assisted by Sholdice. Ducharme got two, assisted by McLean and Tim Waechter scored one. Matt McNichol was only one goal away from a shutout. Busy week for PeeWee Reps Brussels PreTykes have started their season. They’ve played against Elma Logan away and were home to Zurich. The PreTyke team consists of Luke Fritz, Raelyn Fritz, Patrick and Charles Hoy, Bennett Smith, Devin Johnston, Tommy Warner, Abby Strome, Jackson McDonald-Inglis, Colby Nicholson, Joel Nesbitt, Nolan McCutcheon, Carsen Heise, Andon Piper, Albert Cardiff, Simon Johnston, May Johnston, Claire Mitchell, Logan Long and Christopher Pennington.
