The Sunday school children sang,
which provided a taste of what wasto come in the evening. Expressionsof Joy, the Sunday school Christmasconcert was presented. Besides thebeautiful voices of the children therewere skits and readings and pianomusic.
The evening concluded in prayer
and a time of fellowship withChristmas goodies.On Monday evening, Dec. 22Christmas in Auburn will bepresented by the Auburn children’schoir. It begins at 7 p.m. at HuronChapel Evangelical Missionary
Church.
Special guests will be Tess andBailey Burgsma, and harpists GailHewitt and Linda Hess. The musicdirector is Suzanne MacVicar andaccompanist is Alison Dow.This event is sponsored by theAuburn Co-op.
The Auburn Women’s Institute
met Thursday, Dec. 10 at 12:30
p.m. at the Auburn Memorial Hall
for their Christmas meeting.
The opening ode and Mary
Stewart Collect were given
followed by the singing of O’
Canada.
Rev. Pat Cook gave the blessing
before the potluck meal.
After lunch, carols were sung
with Margaret Siertsema and Nancy
Park leading the singing and Laura
Mae Chamney at the piano.
Erma Cartwright, president, gave
a reading, The Tablecloth. Since the
roll call was sing, say or pay,
several members gave a short
reading and one played a piano
selection.
Rev. Pat gave an interesting
message.
A Christmas card was signed by
the group to send to Maureen Bean,
a former member.
Gifts were exchanged bringing
the meeting to a close.

Stuart Liddell Hallam recently
passed away. Auburn area residents
send Stuart’s family their sympathy.
The Knox United Church Women
held their meeting on Dec. 18. They
collected items for Brenda Empey to
take on her mission trip to the
Dominion Republic.
The last five weeks of winners for
the Auburn Lions hockey draw are
as follows: June Patterson, Jamie
Pratt, Jim Whytock, Jim Campbell
and Wayne and Cathy Carter who
won on Dec. 13.
