NEWS FROM LONDESBORO The senior volleyball teams fromHullett Central Public School tookpart in the regional tournament heldat Central Huron Secondary Schoolin Clinton recently. The character attribute being discussed and put into action at Hullett Central during December is compassion. The pupils will beencouraged to show care andcompassion for others.Their recent penny collection wasa great example of compassion. Theschool was able to donate $500 to the Free the Children Association. This association will use Hullett's gift to assist in building a school in a third-world country. Mr. Caldwell’s class brought inthe most pennies. Moreover, the student council hasasked each student to bring to schoolsomething for the Huron County Christmas Bureau – a non- perishable food item, a hat or waterproof mitts, for example to help the less fortunate in the area. Pupils from kindergarten through Grade 5 will be presenting an evening of song as this year’s Christmas concert at Hullett Central. All these purchases of new equipment for CPH have been due to the supportive community. Community Christmas Service Sunday, December 14 7:30 p.m. at Blyth Christian Reformed Church Christmas Message by: Rev. Gary Clark from Blyth United Church Presented by: Trinity Anglican Church Blyth United Church Blyth Christian Reformed Church Huron Chapel Evangelical Missionary Church Blyth Community Church of God Living Water Christian Fellowship Please bring a small disposable plate of goodies for fellowship time after. Hosted by:Blyth Community Church of God Offerings to the Salvation Army, Wingham On Nov. 13 there was a full moon. Looking up when leaving the ARC meeting at the school that evening I marvelled at the beautiful ring around the moon. My first reaction was one of wonder. My second thought was, “I bet that means a change in the weather.” Just a couple of days later winter arrived and seemingly doesn’t want to leave again. Obviously, that ring around the moon was full of ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. I might not have been so impressed had I realized that. However, there will be another full moon on Dec. 12. My (very hopeful) theory is that there will again be a change in the weather, one more to our liking. Weather has truly been the number one topic of conversation recently. The phone lines, so to speak, have been busy with calls to alter plans, cancel events and find alternate dates. The white gift service to have been held at Londesborough United this past Sunday will happen this coming Sunday, Dec. 14. The Blyth Festival Singers were forced to cancel their Christmas concert, Sing Noel, last Sunday as well. They were to have been joined by the Kincardine Brass Band under the direction of Nancy (Hern) Ross. With miles of Hwy. 21 closed to traffic because of drifting snow the band was not able to attend. The concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at North Street United Church in Goderich. Tickets will be available from any choir member or at the door. After, members went back to Eileen’s to have a snack before the meeting. Kristina opened the meeting with the pledge and roll call which was: What is something you do when you want to relax? Answers varied from reading a book to listening to music. Eileen then talked about the choreography approach quiz and reflection. After discussion, members built a musical instrument.
