The Blyth Atom Reps gained their
second win against Mitchell in
recent hockey action.
This was a closer match than their
first meeting, but the Atoms
managed to pull off the victory.
Scoring started late in the first with
an unassisted goal by Brandon
Marshall. With one minute left to
play Brenden Howson slipped one
past the goalie off a pass from
Hunter Dale.
The second period saw many
chances by both teams, but there
were no pucks past the goal line.
The third period gave Mitchell
their first and second goal.
Blyth was not to be outdone and
Dale snuck one into the net with
Marshall sending him the pass.
Marshall scored his second of the
game with Dale’s assistance.
Mitchell came back to score their
third goal.
The play was pretty intense when
the puck was in Blyth’s end and
Mitchell had pulled their goalie.
Blyth played defensively and
managed to keep the puck out.
The final score was 4-3 for Blyth.
The Brussels Tyke Bulls took on
the Blyth Bulldogs on Saturday for
Brussels Hockey Days. The Bulls
gave the Bulldogs’ goalie Dakota
Coultes a workout in the net.
The Bulls dominated the Bulldogs
in the first period with Nic McArter,
Wade Machan, Dana Dolmage,
Teddy Jacklin and Myles Johnston
each scoring. The assists were from
Machan, Johnston and Jacklin.
The Bulldogs picked it up in the
second period giving Bulls’ goalie
Jacklin some action with Myea Fleet
scoring two goals assisted by Jeffrey
Walden and Rylee Chalmers.
The Bulls came in for the win with
Jacob Roth, Machan and Devin
Bridge scoring with the assistance of
Dustin Fritz and Darien Fritz.
The final outcome was 8-2 for the
Bulls.

All together
There was plenty of action around the nets in a fast-paced game between the Brussels
PeeWee Reps and Minto during Minor Hockey Day. The squad couldn’t get one past the
opposing goalie, unfortunately, and fell 4-0. (Vicky Bremner photo)
