The children’s church at Huron Chapel in Auburn, is completing a curriculum about Operation
Christmas Child entitled Passport to Adventure. Through stories, pictures and audio clips, the
students journey into the life of a child in another part of the world who has received a shoe box
gift. It teaches compassion, that giving is better than receiving and that children here have much to
be thankful for. The children earn Box Bucks through participation and good behaviour, then use
them to buy items for a shoebox gift they pack themselves at a simulated Box Bucks store.
Operation Christmas Child’s collection centre is at Huron Chapel, Nov. 25 and Nov. 27 from
10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Nov. 28, 6-9 p.m. Nov. 29, 9 a.m. - noon. Anyone interested can drop off
a shoebox gift during those times. For info call 519-526-1131. (Photo submitted)

At approximately midnight on
Nov. 1 Huron OPP officers were
called to a single motor vehicle
collision on Jeffray Line in Morris-
Turnberry. The motor vehicle
crashed into a tree shortly after
turning north onto Jeffray Line.
Officers located tire skid marks and
fishtail marks visible in the gravel at
the intersection. Witnesses in a
nearby residence heard the car
accelerating rapidly from the
intersection, then heard the crash.
The force of the collision
completely destroyed the front of
the car.
Neither of the occupants was
wearing their seatbelts and both
smashed the windshield with their
heads, said police.
The two males were taken to the
Wingham hospital where they were
treated and released. The 19-year-
old Morris-Turnberry driver faces
one count of careless driving, one
