The theme for the day was “Life Isn’t About Waiting For The Storm To Pass, It’s About Learning To Dance in the Rain. The room was attractively deco- rated with colourful rain gear. Praise and worship as well as special music was provided by Deb Siertsema and Darlene VanderVeen. Those in attendance were enter- tained by six children from the Carry on Cloggers. The guest speaker for the day was Leah Humphreys from New Tribes Mission in Durham. Leah spoke on the day’s theme and shared with the women that we are able to dance amidst our trials because God is with us. The Auburn Horticultural Society meeting planned for Oct. 27 was cancelled and rebooked for Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. It’s focus is Christmas decorating. Guest speaker is Marion Kroekenstal, Pondsview Garden Centre. Featured entertainment includes Audibly Awesome, the Lobbs and friends, specializing in the “the old songs” with vocal harmonies; Madison Bell, granddaughter of Doug and Lynn Chamey, performing two types of dance; Marshall and Ethan Durnin with their violins; John and Geneva Heaman of Kincardine, whose act includes country and western music and ven- triloquism. Audibly Awesome perform for church’s variety concert Congratulations to newlyweds Eldon and Elaine Chamney (nee Brown). Mr. and Mrs. Chamney were married in late summer. On Oct. 20 Frances Clark, former long-time resident of Auburn, enter- tained guests Ruth Jardin, her son Paul and his wife Crystal, at her res- idence in London. After a delicious lunch Frances and her visitors spent a delightful afternoon reminiscing and catching up on recent news. Frances is keeping very well and asked to be remembered to her friends in the Auburn area. Kendra Falconer won the A.J. Moore Memorial Scholarship and was also an Ontario Scholar. Danielle Bean won the Steven Palmer Safety Award and Katie McClinchey was also on the Ontario Scholar list. James Dobie was honured with the Huron County Crime Stoppers Award.
