Knox United Churchhosts ThanksgivingKnox United Church celebratedThanksgiving on Sunday, Oct. 12with the theme of BountifulBlessing. The service also marked the baptism of Braydon William Curran, son of Christopher and Rebecca Curran. The church had its anniversary service on Oct. 19. The message, Laughter is One of God’s Best Gifts, was presented by clowns, Bugsy and Snippitty. The congregation was encouraged to share a smile. A smile costs nothing, but gives so much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give. Next week church will be at the Londesborough United Church at 11 a.m. for the anniversary service. At Huron Chapel Evangelical Church on Sunday, Oct. 19 Rev. Don Albracht read Mark 4: 35-41 where Jesus was sleeping through the storm while the disciples were fishing. They were afraid and woke Jesus up and He calmed the storm. Today people too go through trials andstorms. It’s okay to “wake Jesus up”,to call on Him and to ask for helpthrough our trials. With Christ in the vessel all can smile at the storm as they go sailing home, said Rev. Albracht. The variety concert, A Night to Remember, is being held Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Knox United.
