Hullett Central’sresults are very encouraging. Thepercentage of pupils at or above theprovincial standards are as follows. The only result significantly down from last year and likely to receive greater emphasis at Hullett this year was the Grade 6 math. Results were: Grade 3, reading, school 82/board 58; writing, school 82/board 59; math, school 91/board 70 and Grade 6, reading, school 72/board 67; writing, school 67/board 64; math, school 61/board 63. An accommodation review meeting concerning schools in the Huron/Perth board is to be held on Oct. 23 at East Wawanosh Public School. Results such as those scored by Hullett pupils in May will hopefully be looked at when the quality of Hullett’s education is examined. The Avon Maitland District School Board’s new director, Chuck Reid, will be at Hullett on Friday, Oct. 24. He will be meeting staff and students during the day and spending time with principal, Mrs. Antoniuk and SAC chair, Jenn Fleming. It will be a chance for everyone to showcase what is great about Hullett. Mr. Coups, with the assistance of his Grade 7/8 students, will hold a play day for the other classes on Thursday, Oct. 16. It promises to be a fun day. You might want to wander over to the school that day and check it out.
