Hullett Central Public School encouraged its students to do their hair in a wacky fashion last
Friday as a part of Student Spirit Days. Plenty of students, and even a few teachers, were
up to the task. Back row, from left: Yvonne VanHoof, Nicole Middegaal, Courtney Middegaal
and Kelsey Falconer. Front: Caitie MacDonald, Paige Gibbings, Ashlyn Dobson, Abby
Dobson and Evie Reid. (Shawn Loughlin photo)
PAGE 28. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2008.The results from the EducationalQuality Assessment for Ontario takenacross the province last May havebeen released. Hullett Central’sresults are very encouraging. Thepercentage of pupils at or above theprovincial standards are as follows.
The only result significantly down
from last year and likely to receive
greater emphasis at Hullett this year
was the Grade 6 math.
Results were: Grade 3, reading,
school 82/board 58; writing, school
82/board 59; math, school 91/board

An accommodation review
meeting concerning schools in the
Huron/Perth board is to be held on
Oct. 23 at East Wawanosh Public
School. Results such as those scored
by Hullett pupils in May will
hopefully be looked at when the
quality of Hullett’s education is
examined.
The Avon Maitland District School
Board’s new director, Chuck Reid,
will be at Hullett on Friday, Oct. 24.
He will be meeting staff and students
during the day and spending time
with principal, Mrs. Antoniuk and
SAC chair, Jenn Fleming. It will be a
chance for everyone to showcase
what is great about Hullett.
Mr. Coups, with the assistance of
his Grade 7/8 students, will hold a
play day for the other classes on
Thursday, Oct. 16. It promises to be a
fun day. You might want to wander
over to the school that day and check
it out.
