Fifteen women from the Noted
CD will be performing together for
the final time this summer at the
Livery Theatre in Goderich on
Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Goderich concert concludes a
busy summer-long schedule of
appearances and performances by
the women by bringing them back
together for a final show and
celebration at the Livery Theatre.
Since the CD release in May, the
women have been kept busy
performing at venues across Huron
County to promote the Noted CD.
The concerts and CD have garnered
a lot of attention from both
audiences and the media, with sold-
out shows and many positive reviews
for the CD. The Noted CD even
caught the attention of producers at
the CBC and was featured on CBC
radio program in July.
Noted is a joint project between
the Huron United Way and Heritage
and Culture Partnership. The goal
was to produce a CD of national
quality featuring the female
musicians who live in Huron
County.
An open call for submission went
out last October and 17 women were
eventually chosen to take part in this
exciting new venture. The selected
women took part in a weekend-long
professional development workshop
before hitting the recording studio to
record 14 tracks with the assistance
of a professional producer and
established session musicians.
The project and CD were made
possible with funding assistance
from the Mildred Grimes Trust,
Huron Economic Development
Matters, Lyons and Mulhern
Insurance Brokers Ltd. and the
Maple Leaf Chapter of the IODE.
The concert starts at 8 p.m. on
Sept. 6. Tickets are $10 and
available at Ernie King’s Music and
J’s Bistro in Goderich or at The
Brew and Arms, Bayfield. You can
find more information on the CD
and the entire Noted Project at
