Born in Wroxeter on July 19,
1909, Agnes was in her 99th year.Agnes was predeceased by herbeloved husband Thomas Burke, herparents John and Rachel (Willis)
Gibson, her sisters Mary, Isabel and
Margaret, her brothers Sheriff,
Robert, John, Anderson, Arthur andWilliam and is survived by her manynieces and nephews.Friends were received one hour
prior to the funeral service
conducted from the Gorrie Visitation
Centre of the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home on Wednesday, June
25 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Hawkins
of Wroxeter United Church
officiating. A remembrance of Agnes
was given by her niece Ann Ross.
Cremation followed with
interment of Agnes’s cremated
remains to be in Wroxeter Cemetery
on Saturday, June 28.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to Wroxeter
United Church or the charity of

NEIL EVERETT ADAMS
Mr. Neil Adams of Bluevale,
passed away at Wingham and
District Hospital on Wednesday,
June 25, 2008. He was 64.
Neil was the beloved son of the
late Jim and Catherine (Shiell)
Adams. He was the dear brother of
Ron and Janet Adams of Mitchell,
Barry Adams of London, Jim and
Sharon Adams of Wellesley, Bob
and Vera Adams of Dunnville, Brian
and Ruth Ann Adams of London,
Debbie and Ken Ritchie of Wingham
and Wendy Adams of Bluevale. He
is also survived by several aunts,uncles, nieces and nephews. He wasthe special uncle and friend of Mike and Pam and great-niece
Mischaela.
Visitation was at the McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on Friday
from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral
service was held at the funeral home
chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. Rev.
Jeff Hawkins officiated.
Interment was in Wroxeter
Cemetery, Howick Twp.
Memorial donations to Maitland

Grace Isabel Breen, infant
daughter of Kendra and Ben Breen,
Waterloo was baptized on Sunday,
June 22 at Knox Presbyterian
Church, Waterloo.
The silver baptismal font used for
the baptism had been the property of
the former Knox United Church,
Moncrieff in Grey Twp. It had
served as the baptismal font for two
generations of the Mann family prior
to the closing of the church. Mr. and
Mrs. Archie Mann purchased the
silver font at the church auction in
1976.
The late Mr. and Mrs. Mann, who
farmed in the Moncrieff area for
years, were baby Grace’s great-
grandparents. She is also the
granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Beth
Mann,Waterloo and the late William
(Bill) Mann, formerly of RR1,
Monkton.
Rev. Brooke Ashfield and Rev.
Linda Ashfield officiated at the
church service.
Among relatives attending were
Mrs. Marion Roberts, Listowel; Mr.
and Mrs. Murray Pfeifer, Baden; Mr.
and Mrs. David Dolson, Amanda
and William, Master Matthew Breen
and Mrs. Mary Beth Mann, all of
Waterloo.
A dinner followed at the Breen
home.Other relatives attended from
Pickering and Jackson Point.

Solemn event
People gathered at Ball’s Cemetery on Sunday for the 81st
annual memorial service. Rev. Pat Cook led the service.
This year a total of 13 people were laid to rest at the
cemetery, which dates back to 1857. Chairman Bill Seers
said that the cemetery had received several large
donations and memorials in 2007 which help to maintain
