In the first case, which occurred on
Walton Road in Huron East, green
farm gates of various sizes were
taken from a landowner.
The second was on St Michaels
Road in Morris-Turnberry. The
property owner lost four solar
panels, 4 x 6 volt batteries, two waterpumps, and six green steel gates ofvarious sizes from the property. Thetotal value of the theft isapproximately $10,000. Property owners are beingencouraged to report any suspicious
activity around farms to the OPP.
Obtaining a correct licence plate
number on a suspicious vehicle will
greatly assist the OPP in locating the
owner and confirming whether or
not the actions were legal.

Drinks prove
costly to teen
It was an expensive few drinks for
a Gorrie teen after he appeared in
Wingham’s provincial court, June
19.
Attorney for the Crown Teresa
Donnelly said that Perry Irvine, 18,
was serving a term of probation,
when on Feb. 23 he consumed four
to six bottles of beer at a residence.
One of the conditions of his
probation was that he abstain from
alcohol consumption.
Irvine pled guilty.
His defence council Mike
Donnelly said Irvine is meeting a
substance abuse counsellor.
Judge R.G.E. Hunter gave Irvine
90 days to pay the $200 fine.
G2 DRIVER CHARGED
Jason Small of Bayfield pled
guilty to having a blood alcohol
content over zero, while having a G2
licence.
New drivers must hold a G2
licence for a minimum of 12 months
before they can attempt the G2 road
test. During this time they must not
have any alcohol in their system
when driving.
Federal Crown Mike Donnelly
said that on Dec. 30 police in
Morris-Turnberry had stopped to
talk to the driver of a vehicle that
was stuck. The driver was identified
as Small and it was eventually
determined he had been drinking.
He was issued a 12-hour suspension
at the time.
Hunter fined the 21-year-old $85.
He was given 30 days to pay.

Sometime between June 8 and
June 20 an unknown person(s)
entered a trailer located at a West
Street address in Morris-Turnberry.
The suspect(s) pried off the 16" roof
vent in order to gain entry. Once
inside the thief stole eight bottles of
Molson Canadian beer, then left via
the front door.
The open roof vent caused severe
damage inside the trailer due to the
heavy rains. Total damages are
estimated at over $1,500.
Anyone with information is asked
to contact Crime Stoppers or Huron
OPP.
