By Emma Enders The second meeting of the 4-H Produce Club was held June 6 at the home of Mary Ellen Jefferson. They started the meeting with a garden tour. Sydney then led them in the 4-H pledge. Kendra read the minutes from the last meeting. The club agreed on Powerful Producers as the club name. They played fruit and vegetable jeopardy where the members were divided into two teams: fruit or vegetables. Teams competed to answer the most questions. In the end, the fruits were victorious. Members looked at the Canada Food Guide and discussed serving size. A movie about eating disorders, Dying to be Thin, was shown. The members were divided into three groups to begin cooking. At this meeting they made mushroom soup, green salad, vinaigrette dressing, fruit muesli and minestrone soup. They tested the creations. The next meeting is July 4.
