The Citizen, 2008-04-17, Page 3The ABC Women’s Ministry is presenting Faith-in-Song number six this year on Saturday, April 26 at 8 p.m. in Blyth Memorial Hall. This year’s gospel concert will feature the Watchmen quartet from Kitchener and area. They began their career in 1968 as a group of friends who came together to enter a talent contest at Emmanuel Bible College. Over the past 36 years, as well as performing in many gospel events, they have recorded many gospel songs and hymns. On their 25th anniversary they produced a 90-minute video of their favourite tunes. Through the years many accolades have come their way from the Canadian Gospel Music Association. They have received Top Male Quartet, and Top Soloist Awards throughout the last quarter-century. The group is comprised of Tim Harden of Kitchener and Dave Jantzi of St. Catharines (both pastors), Doug Jones of Newmarket and Dave Yake of Kitchener (both businesspeople). They are accompanied by Brian Winger of Kitchener. Joining the Watchmen at the Blyth concert is Country Clem who is well known throughout the area for his stand-up comedy and musical talent. The character Country Clem was born in a little country church, in a place called Westfield. What was intended to be a one-time performance for a small social event has blossomed into a livelihood, performing on haywagons to some of the largest hotels. Don Vair (Country Clem) was a former director at CKNX Television in Wingham, has performed all over North America, is also an accomplished pianist and guitar player. Vair has enjoyed a vast audience including stage, radio and TV. Vair comes from a family that has always been performing in one way or another, his father was a musician and his brother is a professional ventriloquist. All the proceeds from the concert will be going to youth work in the local communities. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 2008. PAGE 3. His teacher had a hardtime knowing how to teach Teddy. One Christmas she received abracelet with some missing stones init and a used bottle of perfume. Sheacted pleased with the gifts.Teddy told her that she smelled likehis mother, who had passed away thatyear. Miss Thompson didn’t hear from Teddy for awhile but she received a letter saying he was graduating second in his class and the next letter she received he was graduating first in his class. Another latter came and said he was a doctor. Miss Thompson received one more letter. It was to invite her to his wedding and to sit where his mother would have sat if she were alive.
