Happy birthday was sung to

The come and go tea for
Rev. John Roberts’ 80th
birthday at the Belgrave
Community Centre on
Sunday, April 6 was
mentioned.
The singing of Just as I Am
was followed by the call to
worship and prayer of
approach.
After the singing of A Little
Child the Saviour Came the
children sat in the front pews.
Jim Barnes told them it was a
special day, a day of
promises. A promise, he said,
is an assurance given to
someone.
The confirmation class
were making a special
promise that day. They
promised to be faithful and
to fulfill their promise.
They promise to remember
Jesus’ sacrifice when they
take the communion.
Mr. Barnes introduced
Stephanie Robinson and
Christopher Shiell for
renewal of baptismal
vows/confirmation.
Pat Hunking presented
them with a Bible for their
continuing faith and to
remember the church and the
promises they made.
The scripture lessons
were taken from Act 2: 14
and 22-32, Psalm 16 and
the gospel lesson John 20: 19-
31.
Rev. Beamer reflected o n
Thomas, one of the disciples
who doubted that Jesus had
been nailed to the cross. He
wanted to see the scars of the
nails on his hands.
Allen and Kim Walker took
up the offering.
I, the Lord of Sea and Sky
was sung accompanied by
Elizabeth Procter.
The Sacrament of Holy
Communion was
administered.
Jim Barnes thanked several
people including Rev.
Beamer for his help and
dedication.
After the service coffee nd
muffins and a time of
fellowship followed in the
church basement.
There were nine tables of
shoot in play on Friday,
March 28 at the Community
Centre.
The winners were: high
pink card, Vera Schmidt;
second high pink card, Tina
Empey; most shoots, Mary
Taylor; high white card, Joann
MacDonald; second high
white card, Eileen Miller;
most shoots, Mary McIntosh.
The next shoot is Friday,
April 11 at 1:30 p.m.

AgriInvest - $600 Million Kickstart
A New Business Risk Management Program:
Growing Forward
AgriInvest is a farmer account designed to help farmers manage small margin
declines. It replaces coverage previously provided under the Canadian Agricultural
Income Stabilization (CAIS) program for margin declines of less than 15%.
Federal, provincial and territorial governments are launching AgriInvest as part
of the new Business Risk Management program suite. The federal government
is contributing $600 million to kickstart farmer accounts.
The New Business Risk Management suite also includes:
AgriStability – Support for farmers when they have large margin declines.
AgriInsurance – Coverage for insurable production losses.
AgriRecovery – The disaster relief framework.
