The club’s volunteer committee is currently making plans for the Zone rally of USCO on April 7 to be held in Blyth. People were invited to come and exchange family stories through pictures, news items, family trees and stories about the village. People could have items scanned or copied and the Voddens also had a portion of their own family information on display. They also did internet searches for people interested in tracing their ancestors. Member Anne Elliott said, the Association exists to help local businesses and the retail community and to upgrade and promote the Blyth commercial shopping district. “It strives to improve the physical appearance and economic well- being of the community. The Association has had activities in thepast that have funded improvementsthat attract and maintain customersand clients to the area. It alsoendeavours to educate and informthe membership with currentmarketing trends.”Currently, fees to belong to the Association are $75 for retail operators, $45 for associate members (service providers) and $25 for service clubs/organizations.
