Sarah, and This is the Day.
Victoria Coultes and Mrs. Snyders
lit the Christ Candle. The call to

The senior choir sang God Says
Call, accompanied by Elizabeth
Procter. The children came to sit in
the front. James Barnes asked them
how many had watched a baby being
christened. Each time a baby is
christened the children welcome the
baby when he or she comes to
Sunday school. The parents promise
to take the child Sunday School and

and Jesus’ life and will follow them,
he said.
Melissa told the children when

healthy for God by doing kind and
gentle things for other people
coming to church and Sunday school
and keep our faith healthy,” she

is Wherever God’s People Are, and
Great Is Thy Faithfulness. Mrs.

FROM BELGRAVE
Coultes family greets at Knox
Mabel Wheeler hosted the Knox
United Church Evening Unit on
Tuesday, Jan. 8 with Sheila Nixon’s
group in charge of the program.
Mrs. Nixon welcomed everyone
and thanked Mabel for hosting the
meeting. She read a poem My Wish
for Tomorrows.
Barbara Anderson opened the
worship with a call to worship and
prayer. Following a hymn Muriel
Coultes read the scripture from
Matthew 2.
Mrs. Anderson’s meditation was
on Epiphany. She closed with prayer
and the offering was received and
dedicated.
The roll call was to tell one thing
you would like to do this year, that
you maybe didn’t have a chance to
do last year.
The minutes and treasurer’s
reports were received and approved.
Pat Hunking reported that nine cards
had been sent.
Mrs. Nixon’s program was around
New Year’s and new beginnings. She
looked at new ideas for personal
growth, home, church and
community. Various ideas were
discussed.
The UCW will be making beef
pies Jan. 22 and 23, and orders can
be given to Barbara Anderson.
The general UCW meeting will be
Thursday, Jan. 24 with a potluck
supper at 6:30 p.m. Ken Wood will
show slides of his trip to the
Ukraine.
The Huron-Perth Presbyterial
Annual meeting will be in Seaforth
on Jan. 27.
Mrs. Anderson had a quiz and
following the benediction and grace,
Nancy Folkard served a light lunch.
A social time followed.
