Face off
The ceremonial face off was taken by both team captains last Friday at the North Huron all
star game in Wingham. The game was one of the main attractions to North Huron Hockey
Days. Ben Stapleton, centre, dropped the puck for the game. Stapleton is a Grade 10 student
at F.E. Madill Secondary School and the captain of the Wingham Midget team. Gary Leeman,
left, the captain of the 94.5 The Bull Try Hards and a former NHLer took the face off for his
squad and Mark Foxton, right, a Wingham Minor Hockey coach took the face off for his side.

Tough challenge
At last Friday’s all star game,
the Wingham Ironmen all-star
alumni team came up just
short, handing the 94.5 The
Bull Try Hards their first-ever
win. The Ironmen came out
flying early, but failed to score
on the Try Hards when they
replaced their goalie with a
pylon. Over 300 people were in
attendance for the game. (Shawn

After commencing his term as
Ontario’s 28th Lieutenant Governor,
the Honourable David C. Onley
announced his commitment to
continuing the Aboriginal Youth
Literacy initiative that was begun by
his immediate predecessor, the
Honourable James K. Bartleman.
The Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) has once again committed
assistance in this important initiative.
Until Jan. 18 OPP locations
throughout the province will accept
brand new children’s books up to the
Grade 8 reading level. The books
will then be collected and forwarded
