Once again the Christmas lights in
Auburn were judged. Gerald and
Carol McDowell, Jeff and Heather
MacDonald and Aime Labrie were
the winners. Congratulations!
The Lions members are busy
preparing for the New Year’s dance.
Christmas was a very busy time formany families in the Auburn area.Graham Worsell spent Christmaswith his parents Bob and Shelley. Heis currently in Leon Mexico and willbe returning in mid-January.Charlotte, who is in her secondyear at the University of WesternOntario in London was also home forthe holidays. The Worsell family
spent Christmas with family in
London.
Wayne and Marie Scott were more
than busy, as all their children made
it home for Christmas.
Amie Scott is attending Columbia
University in New York. She is
studying for her Masters medical
degree with a future as a doctor.Jarred is at Lethbridge, Albertaworking on a degree in criminaljustice.Joel and Joshua are attendingSummit College at Huntsville.Jordan Scott has just returned froma six-month trip touring the westernUnited States.Santa came early for the Craig and
Arthur families. On Dec. 13 a baby
girl, Riley Rachel Nicole, was born
to Joel and Jen Arthur. Riley is the
first grandchild for Mark Arthur,
Beth Blowes of Auburn and Mary
Arthur of Goderich.
Two days later, on Dec. 15, Dan
and Glenna Craig presented the
Craig family with a baby girl, HazelMaggie Susan. This is the firstgrandchild for Brian and MargaretCraig of Heidelberg. The proudgreat-grandmother is Hazel Craig ofGoderich, a former long-timeresident of Auburn.Lynn Chamney had theunfortunate luck to fall and break herleg. We wish her well and a speedy
recovery.
The Lions Club meetings are Jan. 2
and Jan. 16. The pancake breakfast is
Jan. 13. Auburn Women’s Institute is
Jan. 17.
Next Sunday, a short epiphany
drama will be put on by Knox
Sunday school. This will be during
children’s time.
The Auburn and District Lions
birthday calendar this year is
sporting a picture of historic Ball’s
Bridge at Auburn.

in the Temple was read.

by scripture from Luke 2: 25-35
where Simeon sees God’s salvation.
Hark The Herald Angels Sing was
followed by Luke 2: 36-38 where
Anna bears witness to the redeemer.

The Story of a Carol, the service
closed with the hymn, Go Tell It On
The Mountain.
ELLA GRABER
Ella Marion (Horn) Graber of
Brussels passed away at Braemar
Retirement Centre on Wednesday,
Dec. 26, 2007. Born in Downie Twp.
on July 19, 1922, Ella was in her
86th year.
Ella was the beloved wife of the
late Carl Graber. She was the dear
mother of Carl Graber and Bonnie of
Kitchener and Ken Graber and
Nancy of Brussels. She was also
loved by her grandchildren Kathy
and Mike Bishop, Kenneth and
Vanessa Graber, Chris and Lara
Graber, Curt and Julie Graber and
Phillip and Ainsley Graber and
great-grandchildren Jordan, Robyn,
Jill, Kelsey, Kortney, Ethan, Kailyn
and Keegan. Ella was fondly
remembered by Barb Graber, Betty
Graber-Watson and David and Val
Alcock.
She was predeceased by brothers
Fred, Peter, John and Tom and by
sisters Viola, Betty, Frieda and Mary.
Friends were received by the
family from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.
Friday at the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home where the service was
conducted on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 2
p.m. with Sandra Cable officiating.
Spring interment will be in
Brussels Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
the Alzheimer Society.

DAVID WILLIAM NELSON
David William Nelson of RR1,
Ethel, and formerly of Cambridge,
passed away at Wingham and
District Hospital on Friday, Dec. 28,
2007. Born in Kitchener on Aug. 30,
1964, David was in his 44th year.
David was the beloved husband of
Michele. He was the dear son of
Raymond and Donna Nelson, both
of Cambridge. He was the stepfather
of Robin and Susy Edwards and
Amber and James Johnson and their
children Emelie, Gabrielle, Caleb,
Ashley, Kyle, Joseph and Joey. He
was the dear brother of Darlene and
Brad Kieswetter, Brenda Nelson,
Stacey and Cindy Nelson and Lorrie
Nelson, all of Cambridge. David will
also be sadly missed by his nephews
and nieces.
He was predeceased by his
brother-in-law Gary Leudy and
grandparents Viola and Sonny Jones
and Kathlene Leighton.
Cremation has taken place. A
gathering will be held to celebrate
David’s life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society.
