Our sympathy is extended to Charlie, Brenda McDonald and families and Ann and John Nesbit and families on the death of a mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. The Craig family celebrated their Christmas on Sunday, Dec. 30 at the home of Joye and Murray Kane of Fullarton. Those attending were Lauree Elder of Stratford, Al, Cindy, Bryan and Ashley Kane of Mitchell, Doug, Joyce and Jamie Craig of Atwood, Kim and Mark Hornyak of Strathroy, Paul, Sue, Emily and Amanda Craig of Waterloo, Bodie and Ollie Craig, Deb, Fred, Jon, and Quinton Hakkers, Marilyn Craig, Dave Craig, all of Blyth. Everyone enjoyed the food and a time for visiting with one another. Happy Birthday to Deb Hakkers, Mike Haggitt and Jenna deCorte of Kippen (daughter of Sandra (Howson) and Tony) who will all celebrate on Thursday, Jan. 4. Euchre will be starting for the new year on Jan. 14 in the Blyth Legion hall at 7:30 p.m. BLYTH UNITED CHURCH Greeting at Blyth United Church on Sunday, Dec. 30 was Doug Howson. Ushering were Brenda Brooks, Joann MacDonald and Elaine Brown. Guest organist was Elizabeth Stennett. Guest speaker Sandy Morris welcomed everyone to church. The choir anthem was The Nativity Carol. A minute for mission was read by Lorna Fraser. The scripture readings were from Isaiah 63: 7-9, Hebrews 2: 10-18 and Matthew 2: 13-23. Psalm 148 was read responsively. The dogs were taken from the display area of Pups for Pets on Blyth Road. The display area is a heated room that had been completed just in time for Christmas. Many of the dogs taken were already purchased as Christmas presents. The police are asking the public to keep a watchful eye and to be aware of the specific breeds of dogs that are missing. The stolen dogs include a male black schnauzer and a salt and pepper schnauzer both aged eight weeks, a black West Highland terrier/cairn cross aged five weeks, a white female West Highland terrier ages seven weeks, a black husky aged eight weeks, a brown female bulldog aged three months, a black and tan female Yorkshire terrier/poodle cross aged 11 weeks, a black and white shitzu aged 3 weeks and two black and white Boston terriers aged 10 weeks. The value is estimated at $4,700.
